Our Cesarine (the name of our hosts) will welcome you like part of the family and will teach you their family cooking secrets for an authentic culinary experience.

It’s impossible to travel to Italy without sampling a pasta dish, better still, we’ll guide you on how to prepare two of them! Our cooking class will teach you how to hand make ‘sfoglia’ (fresh pasta) and two types of homemade pasta. Additionally, we’ll also teach you how to prepare the famous Tiramisu. This class provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in Italian culture, make new friends, and share your love for Italian cuisine.

Cesarine boasts the title of the oldest network of home cooks spread across Italy. As gracious hosts, they welcome inquisitive travelers into their homes for rich culinary experiences.
- Please note that our Cesarine are ready and thrilled to host you in their homes! All Cesarine are always very careful and attentive of the important sanitary rules needed, even more now! The homes provide all the essential sanitary equipment for the guests (paper towels for washing hands, hand sanitizing gel and so on). Remember to always maintain 1 meter distance from each other and if not, wear masks and gloves

Fun and delicious experience! - My husband, two sisters-in-law, and I did the Italian cooking experience. Monica (our host) was great! She explained everything very clearly, and we were all amazed by how simple it all was! At the end, we enjoyed the delicious meal we had prepared. It was a nice, relaxing way to cap off a great day in Varenna!

Amazing dinner at Lake Como - We agree that Patrizia’s cooking class is an amazing experience. Patrizia and Luca welcomed us into their beautiful home overlooking Lake Como. Patrizia taught us how to make authentic homemade Tortaloni and Tiramisu. They served dinner and wine. We enjoyed every bite. After dinner we sat out on the patio enjoying the beautiful view of the lake. We highly recommend this experience to everyone.

One of the must do experiences on Lake Como!!! - We are 1 week in on a 2.5 week trip in northern Italy, and this was one of the best, if not the best, experiences we have had. Just as good as a private boat tour on Lake Como! Monica is the best! We made ravioli, tagliatelle pasta from scratch and then tiramisu. Was so delicious! Can’t wait to make homemade pasta back in the US!!! Highly highly recommend!

The best Hostess! - Patrizia was an amazing hostess! She and her home were lovely. The food was top notch! She is a wonderful teacher and great with my 13 year old son. I would recommend this experience to anyone with teenagers or older children. I can’t say enough positive things about this experience. It was truly “Italian”!

Greatest Experience at Lake Como!! - The Location and kitchen was Beautiful. Patrizia is a very friendly and competent teacher. We enjoyed making the Tiramisù and the Pasta! Also very good wine, cheese and Self-Backed Focaccia was served. In the end, we enjoyed the Food together and it was very tasty, also due to the high quality and regional ingredients. Overall it was the best experience we had at Lake Como and we will certainly be back.

Best Pasta Yet! - This was an amazing once in a lifetime experience thanks to the hospitality of Patrizia & Luca! It ended up just being my partner & I, rather than a full group, and it was such a lovely evening. Delicious food (our favorite pasta dishes yet of our trip), and the view is spectacular. Plus you get to take home authentic recipes! Thank you again for an unforgettable experience, Patrizia & Luca!!

Fantastic Class in Varenna - Monica was a wonderful teacher and we thoroughly enjoyed our pasta making class. Even our 19-year-old son loved it. The food was excellent and the company during the meal was even better. We can't wait to try making fresh pasta at home!

Incorrectly listed for location - Do not recommend. This location is mot correctly listed and does not speak any English if you are a tourist. We went to the meeting place in the pouring rain and waited for an hour. Did not get to do the experience and have requested a refund. Very disappointing for our family of 5.

Beware after you book - What a bust and misleading advertising. Said class was in Varenna (or within a walking distance of 5 km on website). Even says meeting point and ending point is in Varenna. But doesn’t give location when you book. Turns out in subsequent confusing emails after you book that our cooking class was located 2 remote villages 15 km away. Wanting to go to this class, we got to Varenna a few hours early. Tried for 1.5 hours to get either a taxi of Uber, but no one wanted to take us to this remote location.
Beware when you book, and cancel if you are being sent outside Varenna unless you have a car.
We were unable to make the class, and Viator/TripAdvisor doesn’t want to refund, even though they misadvertised as “in Varenna”. I have heard similar other reviews on Viator/TripAdvisor poor service and inability to talk to someone to try to resolve.
