La Paz Adventure - Love the preserve, waterfalls and hike! You can see so much in such a small amount of time and the waterfalls are really majestic!

Do not miss this experience in Costa Rica! - Do not miss this, if you come to Costa Rica. The most amazing waterfalls, beautiful but lots of steps down and up.

An unforgettable experience - This was honestly one of my best experience in Costa Rica! The park is absolutely beautiful with the different animals and waterfalls. The park is extremely well maintained and there are signs for everything. The only thing is that there lots of stairs involved, so prepare to put in a little work! We were only given 2 hours to explore the park (due to the driving service we booked separately) but 2-3 hours is definitely a decent amount of time to explore the entire park.

A great first full day in Costa Rica - We booked a place in Alajuela (The Pura Vida Hotel) for two nights so we could have a local day after the long flight before we explored further. At the last minute, we decided to get a driver to take us to the La Paz Waterfall and Gardens and it was a great way to start the trip! We got to see the local countryside on the drive and see many rescued animals of Costa Rica at the park. Most of the habitats for the animals were very well done (bravo!) and that made me feel good. As others have noted, it is hard to ethically keep big cats, and hopefully they will apply some profits to expanding those habitats. Then we hiked around the gorgeous waterfalls -- far more impressive than I'd been expecting! All in all, a lovely introduction to the wild side of Costa Rica.

A Great Overview of Costa Rica - A good overview of Costa Rica floral, fauna and natural beauty. Yes, amimals are in cages, and that's not my favorite, but their enclosures aren't too small. The monkeys were having great fun. Only a jaguar was doing the boredom pace. If there is any chance of rain I would suggest to do the waterfalls first while it's not raining and save the exhibits for when it is raining. Be sure to go inside the Tico exhibit and talk to the docent and take in what a typical 1850 Costa Rican house was like. Their food and coffee samples were delicious.

the waterfalls are really beautiful - The zoo is more of a glorified zoo, but with many animals and beautifully designed. Some cages are small. But the waterfalls and certainly the walk are beautiful. Beautiful nature.

A must-see park for good walkers only - This visit is absolutely a must but for visitors in good shape because with its 720 steps. Beautiful place with a super beautiful landscape. Each section well identified with butterflies, birds, hummingbirds, felines, flowers, orchids, monkeys, the farm and the great waterfalls. the path is easy to follow. Even the road to get to La Paz park is superb but winding and made for a good driver and a 4-wheel drive

A bit pricey but overall enjoyable - A bit pricey but overall enjoyable. All the animals either come from illegal ownership or another zoo. All animals are native to Costa Rica. The place is pretty hilly. The waterfalls are nice but do require several steps. They are quite pretty. Great stop from San Jose to LA Fortuna
