The jungle cats exhibit is another highlight at La Paz Waterfall Gardens. These cats remain in captivity as they cannot be reintroduced into the wild due to age, injury, or prolonged human exposure. • Join us for a visit to an authentic coffee plantation, where you can explore and learn about the techniques used to produce this essential bean. Afterwards, we’ll head to one of Costa Rica’s most popular attractions, La Paz Waterfall Gardens. The waterfall is conveniently located right next to the road from Alajuela that heads to the northern plains of Costa Rica. The La Paz River creates the waterfall after flowing 8 kilometers (5 miles) through volcanic terrain, and then continues its journey through the rainforest on the eastern side of Poás Volcano. A short trail leads behind the waterfall, where a small shrine once stood. Upstream from the waterfall is La Paz Waterfall Gardens, a park where visitors can see a variety of local wildlife species.
