Dogubeyazit - Proceed to your hotel in Dogubeyazit and meet your mountain guide. In the evening, gather with your guide and group to review equipment and address any questions regarding the trek.
Base Camp 1
Mount Ararat - After an early breakfast, travel to the highest accessible point by vehicle at 2000 meters (6562 feet). From there, porters will load your luggage onto horses, and you’ll embark on a 4-5 hour hike, ascending 1100 meters to reach Base Camp 1. The trek covers approximately 8-10 kilometers. Enjoy lunch en route (juice, chocolates, cakes, fruits, sandwiches, water). Base Camp 1 is a lush pasture with stone walls to protect tents from the wind. Dinner (hot meal and drinks) will be served at the camp, followed by an overnight stay in a tent.
High Altitude Acclimatization Day
Mount Ararat - At this elevation, acclimatization is crucial. Today, trek to 4200 meters, with lunch along the way, and return to Base Camp 1 for dinner.
Base Camp 2
Mount Ararat - Hike approximately 10 kilometers (six hours) to reach 4200 meters (13,780 feet). At Base Camp 2, natural rock clearings provide sheltered tent sites. Melted glacier water flows freely near the campsite. Conclude the day with dinner at the camp and rest overnight at Base Camp 2.
Summit Climb
Mount Ararat - Rise early for breakfast around 1 a.m. Then, join the group for the trek to the summit of Ararat, reaching an elevation of 5137 meters (16,854 feet), the pinnacle of Anatolia and Turkey. The ascent to the summit takes 6 to 7 hours. Crampons and an ice ax may be required for the final hour and are provided by our horses. Capture photos and videos at the summit, then descend to the high camp at 4200 meters for a meal and rest. Return to Base Camp 2 by 11:00 a.m., pack, and descend to Base Camp 1 at 3300 meters. Horses will transport your luggage to Camp 1, ensuring you don’t have to carry it. Enjoy a light dinner and overnight stay at Base Camp 1.
Descent
Mount Ararat - Descend for 4 hours from Base Camp 1 to Cevirme Village, where a vehicle will be waiting.
Ishak Pasha Palace - Visit this 17th-century Ottoman palace, one of the few remaining examples of its kind.
Head Home
