Embark on the legendary journey of Hotu Matu’a, the inaugural king of Rapa Nui, and discover the island’s most renowned archaeological landmarks. Starting from Hanga Roa, the adventure kicks off at Ahu Akahanga — the “Platform of the King” — thought to be the burial site of Hotu Matu’a. Proceed to Rano Raraku Volcano and quarry, where almost 400 moai were sculpted from volcanic stone, and explore Ahu Tongariki, the island’s largest platform featuring fifteen impressive statues.

The tour continues to Ahu Te Pito Kura, which houses the tallest standing moai, and the nearby magnetic stone “Te Pito o Te Henua,” also known as the Navel of the World.
