Known as one of Spain’s most picturesque towns, it boasts a coastal setting and a fortified old town. The tour includes a visit to the renowned Castle of Pope Luna, where Pope Luna (Benedict XIII) sought refuge. This castle is among the best-preserved in Spain and represents the last stronghold constructed by the Templars. Gain insights into the fascinating history of the Templars and Pope Luna.
From April 1st to October 31st, enjoy 1 hour and 30 minutes of free time to explore at your leisure. Feel free to visit the beach, and don’t forget to bring your swimsuit.

Excellent - Our guide Toni was very friendly, giving information about the places we toured and willing to help in whatever one needs. We had a rainy day, but he lent us umbrellas and we could do the tour without problems.
The only thing to consider is that if you go in the low season, it is almost all closed (business, local), which can limit the experience of walks or options to tour beyond the castle.

Ask for Tony! - Tony was wonderful and extremely educational. This is a must even if you aren't a game of thrones fan. The meeting place was easy to find, it was a small group which was an added charm. Tony was very helpful in getting a cab for me as soon as we were done which was much appreciated. The castle, the weather, his timing was perfect. I would do this tour again. 10/10

Great Tour! - We had a wonderful time visiting the beautiful and historical Peniscola. Toni, our guide, was friendly, knowledgeable and a very upbeat person. He was so helpful to one of our friends who had problems walking.
Toni explained how Peniscola was used as a setting for Games of Thrones by showing us in his iPad some snippets from a couple of episodes. The tour of the castle and the breathtaking surroundings was very interesting and Toni made it even more so with his sense of humor. We highly recommend this tour.

Great tour by a very... - Great tour by a very knowledgeable guide covering everything there was to see in Peniscola. We enjoyed learning about the area, how it was used in Game of Thrones, and was a good choice of restaurant (Brizza).

Good guide, tour organization could be improvement - Our guide Tony was very nice and knowledgeable. He showed us the filming locations from Game of Thrones in Peñíscola, shared videos with us, took us to lunch, and then guided us through the castle. The castle tour itself was interesting, although it was very windy that day and unfortunately the garden was closed.
Overall, the experience was pleasant, but I feel the tour could be better organized. For example, it might make more sense to visit the castle first and have lunch afterward. That way, guests who finish lunch earlier could enjoy some free time instead of everyone waiting together before going to the castle and then having limited free time afterward.
It would also be great if the itinerary included a few more stops, such as a beach viewpoint, so we could better appreciate the full view of the Peñíscola peninsula and its island setting. Additionally, the restaurant choice could be improved.

Disappointed - first time for a Viator tour as previously they have always been excellent. - Disappointed as in the previous 3 weeks we had booked through Viator and had excellent experiences from Seville to Ronda, Barcelona to Montserrat, Girona&CostaBrava and Tarragona&Sitges. The service, transport and guides were all excellent.
However, when it came to Peniscola we were extremely disappointed. There were 16 on the tour (it had previously been cancelled and then reinstated) and therefore 2 vehicles were provided. The one we were in was not clean. The dirty smeared windscreen impacted our view to many sites along the way. As I get motion sickness I had to take medication as I sat in the front seat and couldn't see clearly through the windscreen. Others in the rear seats said their windows were not clean either. Dust on the dashboard as well. Obviously a vehicle supplied at the last minute. It also appeared that there was only 1 real guide as 8 of us had to wait around while he spoke to the other 8 before we were informed. We suggested to the guide that he speak to all at once and then show the ipad to 8 at a time but he didn't comply. Time wasted.
As well as the above, I have used Viator on many occasions this year, in both France and Norway, and this is the first time I was disappointed. Viator always excellent but unfortunately on this occasion their supplier fell short.
