Recently opened to the public, Mysterium Fidei is discreetly located at a tranquil corner of St Christopher Street and Strait Street. Many visitors discover its entrance while exploring Valletta. Driven by curiosity about what lies beyond the Monastery’s walls, they are soon captivated by its rich history, stunning architecture, and the peaceful ambiance of the cloisters. Guests can witness the authentic lifestyle of the nuns who lived in seclusion from the outside world, relying on self-sufficiency. To this day, chickens lay eggs, and fruits and vegetables are cultivated in the garden. Designed with sustainability in mind, the monastery features seven wells that collect rainwater from the roofs. Mimi, the monastery cat, often greets visitors warmly, accompanying them on the audio tour before settling in a sunny garden spot, offering a delightful photo opportunity.
