• Saint Hripsime Church - This church is one of the renowned ecclesiastical structures in Echmiadzin, Armenia. It is a refined example of cross-cupola architecture, celebrated for its architectural elegance and grandeur. The sacristy houses the tomb of the Christian martyr, Virgin Hripsime. This site is also listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.
• Saint Gayane Church - Located near the Echmiadzin Cathedral, with the majestic white peaks of Ararat in the background, the silhouette of St. Gayane Church is visible. Constructed in the 7th century, it exemplifies the domed-basilica style. Legend has it that the church was built over the tomb of Virgin Gayane, who was martyred for spreading Christianity. This site is included in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.
• Zvartnots Temple - This extraordinary temple showcases the skill and daring creativity of 7th-century Armenian architects. Originally built on several columns, it remained intact until the 10th century. During excavations in the early 20th century, many experts were skeptical of the reconstruction model proposed by the renowned Armenian architect Toros Toramanyan, as it seemed improbable that such a vast and intricate structure could have been constructed at that time. Remarkably, a bas-relief from St. Chapelle Church in Paris, depicting Zvartnots Temple with Noah’s Ark, supported Toramanyan’s model. This site is also part of the UNESCO Cultural World Heritage List.
