Schattenburg Museum - Schattenburg Castle, located in Feldkirch, Austria, is a well-preserved medieval fortress dating back to around 1200. Built by Count Hugo I. of Montfort, it served as the Montfort family’s ancestral seat until 1390. The Habsburgs later took control, managing the castle through appointed bailiffs. Over the centuries, the castle underwent various transformations, including serving as a prison from 1778 to 1825 and later as barracks and a poorhouse. In 1825, the town of Feldkirch acquired the castle, and it has since been preserved and revitalized.
