It houses nearly all of the remaining old-growth forest in Mauritius, which is just 2% of the original forest. This makes it a sanctuary for numerous iconic and endangered species such as the Mauritian Flying Fox, Echo Parakeet, Mauritius Kestrel, and Pink Pigeon. The best chance to observe these remarkable animals is by exploring the extensive trail network, which spans 60 km and leads to waterfalls, peaks, and untouched forest areas. The park is accessible from various entrances.
