Great tour - We took this tour while visiting Raiatea on a cruise ship. We were supposed to dock next to the pickup point but, due to weather conditions, our ship had to anchor in the harbor and tender us ashore. This made us late for the pickup. Fortunately, ARE is used to dealing with this situation and our guide/boat captain was waiting at the tender platform when we arrived. We appreciate how accommodating ARE was at handling this unexpected situation. The boat was near the tender pier and the total group was 10. We all fit very comfortably in the boat, which had plenty of seating and room for bags as well as a cover. The guide/captain did a great job (sorry I don't recall his name). He was very enthusiastic and made sure that we were all comfortable. We made a variety of stops that included a rum factory, pearl farm, and vanilla plantation. The highlight for us was the coral garden and motu lunch. Although the weather wasn't the best and the currents were strong, the snorkeling was very nice. We swam with sharks at the motu. The lunch was also very nice. We particularly enjoyed the fresh fish and local fruit. The ride back was challenging. A storm came through during the ride and brought heavy rain and rough seas. Fortunately, ARE provided rain ponchos to help protect us. The boat captain did a nice job of navigating the conditions and, while it was certainly uncomfortable, we never felt unsafe. The overall tour is very well done and we highly recommend ARE.

Fabulous tour with great guide - Fabulous tour guide and saw everything we wanted to. Distillery, black pearl farm, Polynesian lunch on plant plates, and finally vanilla farm.

Amazing and memorable excursion - If I could give it a 10 star I would, this excursion was the highlight of my cruise to French Polynesia. We visited a vanilla farm and pearl farm. But the most fun was the snorkeling and the lunch on the motu. I recommend 100%. It was worth every penny. Thank to the team who made my day memorable. Josee and Benoit from Canada

It was a beautiful... - It was a beautiful day with many beautiful experiences. The excursion started with a visit to a vanilla farm. We learned all about the cultivation and the high craftsmanship. Afterwards, the ride continued to a small island where snorkeling took place. Hardly dry we went by boat to a pearl farm. Really interesting how the shells were treated to grow the most beautiful pearls. The highlight was the food and demonstration of how coconuts are harvested and processed. The team showed us life in Polynesia with a joy and enthusiasm that is second to none. Just great and a must for all visitors to the island.
