Great Paddleboarding Tour - Our tour with Shannon was the highlight of our trip! We had the two hour tour around Kanawha Falls. We got to paddleboard in and around the falls, climb up and lean against one and even jump off a rock cliff! We recommend this tour to anyone coming to the New River Gorge area. Shannon was taking photos for us on the water and gave us incredible photos to remember the trip.

Unforgettable Family Paddle Adventure – Perfect for All Ages - We had the most amazing experience with Mountain surf Paddle Sports! From start to finish, everything was perfect. Sterling was fantastic—so patient, knowledgeable, and great with our kids. Our five-year-old had the time of his life and was even paddling on his own and standing up by the end of the trip! Our 4- and 2-year-old were equally thrilled just being on the boards and splashing in the water—it was such a fun and safe environment for little ones. The whole team made us feel confident, supported, and excited. We couldn’t be happier with how fun and smooth everything was. This will be a core memory for our family. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly paddle adventure!

Beautiful waterfall paddle - 10/10. Highly recommend! We booked our SUP tour (Kanawha Falls) when we had a free day on our vacation, and it turned out to be one of our favorite things we did! John, our guide, was informative, friendly, talkative, and funny. Paddle boards, life jackets, and paddles were all great quality. The falls were beautiful, and the scenery along the river was breathtaking. We were able to swim, walk through some of the smaller falls, and paddle all over the area. Such a fun way to spend the afternoon! Thanks John!!

Paddling into the Peaks: Summerville Lake Adventure - The scenery was truly beautiful —the majestic mountains, charming town in the distance, cascading waterfall, and winding river created a stunning backdrop for our adventure. Our guide, Shannon, was exceptional: warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made sure my friend and I saw all the highlights and hidden gems. Shannon also took fantastic photos and videos that we'll cherish forever. I highly recommend him!

Mountain Surf offers the best of the river or lake - I’ll keep the review short & sweet. Shannon at Mountain Surf runs a great operation! Nice boards, courteous service, and a knowledgeable guide. I love Kanawha Falls but Summersville Lake is amazing too. If you’ve never done it, get the guided tour and you won’t regret it!

AMAZING Stargazing on Paddleboards! - I have never been on a paddle board and after our Moonlight/Stargaze tour I’m in LOVE with paddle boarding! Shannon was amazing! Took us under a waterfall! The stars were 100/10 on summersville Lake! Can’t wait to come back and do the Sunset tour!! Thank you soooo much for an unforgettable experience!

Kanawha Falls - We had so much fun at the Kanawha Falls! Booking on TripAdvisor was a little misleading because it didn't give us the option to select paddleboards or kayaks. We were lucky they had 4 kayaks available for my friends. I ended up paddleboarding while they kayaked, so it worked out! It was also misleading because we didn't go to the New River Gorge location. They pick one of three locations that they think is best for your trip. My friends and I ended up having a wonderful time at the falls! It was a gorgeous day, and our tour guide was soo helpful!

Be very careful with your cancellations with this business. - We were not able to take the trip and cancelled within the time that Viator allowed; however the cancellation was not honored. The business owner was responsive and helpful at first; she admitted she didn't know Viator allowed that short of a cancellation, and told us she was in contact with them about it but was not good at following up. Four months later we still have not received a refund or a credit for the trip.
