An Incredible Northwest Kayak Tour! - This kayak tour was such a blast! We spent about three hours out on the water in a double kayak, and it was the perfect pace, not too rushed, but never boring. The stop at Hope Island was a nice break, and it was cool to get out and wander around before heading back. Ross and Doug were awesome guides, super friendly, laid-back, and full of good stories. They made the whole trip feel easy and fun, and you could tell they really enjoy what they do. All in all, it was just a really fun experience and a great way to spend the day. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something outdoorsy and memorable.

Terrific for the whole family! - Terrific experience with this outfit! Our family (ages 16 to 70) all enjoyed a beautiful paddle to Hope Island. Ross gave great direction on paddling and guided our group with friendly interactions. We saw seals in the water with us! The stop at Hope Island was a lovely rest break in the forest camp area. I would do this again and again!

South Sound water Magic - Thank you Ross, and South Sound Kayak Tours, for a great day on the water. The Hope Island Tour, for 9 people, was delightful and filled a Bucket List. A great way to introduce family and friends to the magic of the south sound. Your company is very organized, easy to communicate with and true to your advertising. We enjoyed the day with seals, blue heron and jellyfish. Hope Island was a great discovery. Thank you for your knowledge and guiding light.

Eagles, jellies and seals, oh my! - Our paddle around Hope Island with Ross and Doug was spectacular! My three sisters and I were celebrating a weekend getaway and had so much fun out on the water with these knowledgeable and outgoing tour guides. We highly recommend! Their passion for the sport and for the Puget sound shows in everything they do. Ross was so patient as he got each one of us acclimated to our kayak, and Doug was super supportive of me in particular, as I was very anxious to go out on the water. But by the time we were finished, I couldn’t wait to go again! The pacing was perfect, and as the clouds burned off, and the sun shone through, we saw eagles soaring, a blue heron perched in a tree, osprey overhead, egg yolk jellyfish larger than a dinner plate floating by, and a mother and baby seal that were very curious about Doug’s rudder! From kayak karaoke to snacks on the beach, it was a peaceful and energizing day on the Sound.

Awesome tour and guide - This was a great kayak tour with a knowledgeable and experienced guide. Beautiful views, we enjoyed exploring the shallows, learning about clams and moon snails. We saw Puget Sound bears, harbor seals, and brightly colored starfish. Highly enjoyable trip! Even my teenage son said he had a great time!

No Better Way to Spend a Summer Morning - We echo the previous review. It was a fantastic summer morning, and Ross was more than just a kayaking guide -- he taught us about the wildlife and pointed out sea life that we would have missed had we been on our own. We had about 40 minutes on Hope Island, time to eat our lunch in the apple orchard near the caretaker's residence and still take a short walk in the woods. This is a relatively new business and is a great addition to the recreational opportunities in the South Sound.

South Sound Kayak Tours is great. 👍🏻 🦭 🌊 - I would highly recommend this tour company. Whether you’re an experienced kayaker or it’s your first time, Ross is very welcoming, he’ll make you feel comfortable, and if you need it, he’ll walk you through the basics and give you a hand. All of the equipment is high quality. We did the Hope Island tour and it was beautiful - we saw seals, cormorants, bald eagles, great blue herons, deer on the island, fish jumping out of the water… it was great. I’d definitely book another adventure with them again. Thanks so much.

Loved it - I haven’t gone kayaking in over 10 years but the experience has always stared with me. We got the opportunity to do a kayak tour during our vacation and I am happy we did. My hubby was not as eager because the water scares him somewhat, but we both ended up loving the whole experience. The tour guides were both wonderful and put both our trepidations at ease. They were both so nice and knowable.i. It really felt like we were kayaking with friends. Hope island was interesting and we got a chance to explore a bit, which was nice. Bottom line, we both are glad we experienced and 100% would recommend it.
