5 Stars – A Must-Do in Seattle! - I can’t recommend the Mad Scientist Cocktail and Mocktail Lab enough — what an absolute blast. From the second we walked in, the vibe was fun, light, and totally welcoming. Jen, our host, was incredibly knowledgeable but kept things relaxed and playful the whole time. You could tell she knew her stuff, but she made sure the focus stayed on creativity and enjoyment, not rules or perfection. What I loved most was how everyone participated — whether you’re a mixology nerd or just curious, there was zero pressure and no wrong way to experiment. The small, intimate group made it easy to connect and share creations, and somehow, everyone just fit. It felt like a perfect mix of structure and freedom, and by the end, we were all laughing and sipping drinks we’d never think to make on our own. A totally unique and memorable experience. If you’re in Seattle, go. Whether you drink alcohol or not, you’ll walk out with a smile.

unique and fun!! Date night or fun memory! - This was the coolest and most unique experience. NOTE: THIS IS NOT ACLASS BUT A FUN MIXOLOGY EXPERIENCE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GUIDED STEP BY STEP TO COCKTAILS, THIS IS NOT IT! The instructor was so kind and very knowledgeable. The experience was 10000% worth the $. This was the highlight of my trip to Seattle. We got to mix and play around with new recipes with ingredients that would’ve costed a fortune to buy at home. It was a small 8-10 person class, so very intimate and fun vibes. I would HIGHLY recommend this activity. For the entrance: go inside the Melrose Market near Taylor Shellfish and it’s the first staircase on the right. It was difficult to find at first but easy to spot once you’re inside the market.

True Experimentation Experience - We went for a friend's birthday and had a fantastic time! The lab is well-stocked and the lead scientist is knowledgeable and helpful. She started with a tour of the lab and how she organized ingredients and then we were left to our own devices (except for the smoker). Everyone in my group had a fun time deciding what ingredients to mix and match and try. Some of our concoctions tasted professional, some tasted toxic, but we enjoyed bringing to life what our imaginations thought up and assigning punny names for each drink. I would highly recommend to any friend group that enjoys drinking, laughing, and experimenting together!

The eye opening drink experience - How do you make something as old as cocktail creations so fresh and new! A fantastic usage of space with an even superior sense for human, this experience is one and a million. I learned more about what kind of spirits I’m fond of, made a new friend, and learned most importantly what doesn’t blend well with what I like.

A must for a creative date night! - We had such a great time last night creating fun cocktails. It’s such a cute, quaint environment with everything available for you to experiment with. Our hostess was knowledgeable, fun and gave us the latitude to pretty much make anything that we wanted to with what was there. It was a great date night!

Best Group Activity - What a fun family and friends group experience! I loved experimenting with Mocktail recipes but the rest of our group had fun pretending to be bartenders concocting cocktails. We were an intergenerational group of all ages and it is hard to find an activity in the heart of Seattle that gives everyone a great time and still allows for conversation and collaboration. Jen stocks the bar well and there is no recipe she can't help create with a little imagination. I highly recommend this fun laboratory in a great neighborhood.
