It's a fun experience... - It's a fun experience where you make your own adventure. Jen has a veritable collection of mixers, essences, liquors including non-alcoholic variants, and various odds and ends. She guides you through whatever experiments you want to try.

Fun and quirky - This was a fun experience to explore and learn new things and the guest lead was personable and fun. This is not a workshop, but you can ask questions about how to do things and learn from that. It’s a great way to create flavors and drinks that you couldn’t do at home.

5 Stars – A Must-Do in Seattle! - I can’t recommend the Mad Scientist Cocktail and Mocktail Lab enough — what an absolute blast. From the second we walked in, the vibe was fun, light, and totally welcoming. Jen, our host, was incredibly knowledgeable but kept things relaxed and playful the whole time. You could tell she knew her stuff, but she made sure the focus stayed on creativity and enjoyment, not rules or perfection. What I loved most was how everyone participated — whether you’re a mixology nerd or just curious, there was zero pressure and no wrong way to experiment. The small, intimate group made it easy to connect and share creations, and somehow, everyone just fit. It felt like a perfect mix of structure and freedom, and by the end, we were all laughing and sipping drinks we’d never think to make on our own. A totally unique and memorable experience. If you’re in Seattle, go. Whether you drink alcohol or not, you’ll walk out with a smile.

unique and fun!! Date night or fun memory! - This was the coolest and most unique experience. NOTE: THIS IS NOT ACLASS BUT A FUN MIXOLOGY EXPERIENCE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GUIDED STEP BY STEP TO COCKTAILS, THIS IS NOT IT! The instructor was so kind and very knowledgeable. The experience was 10000% worth the $. This was the highlight of my trip to Seattle. We got to mix and play around with new recipes with ingredients that would’ve costed a fortune to buy at home. It was a small 8-10 person class, so very intimate and fun vibes. I would HIGHLY recommend this activity. For the entrance: go inside the Melrose Market near Taylor Shellfish and it’s the first staircase on the right. It was difficult to find at first but easy to spot once you’re inside the market.

True Experimentation Experience - We went for a friend's birthday and had a fantastic time! The lab is well-stocked and the lead scientist is knowledgeable and helpful. She started with a tour of the lab and how she organized ingredients and then we were left to our own devices (except for the smoker). Everyone in my group had a fun time deciding what ingredients to mix and match and try. Some of our concoctions tasted professional, some tasted toxic, but we enjoyed bringing to life what our imaginations thought up and assigning punny names for each drink. I would highly recommend to any friend group that enjoys drinking, laughing, and experimenting together!

A waste. - It was honestly a big waste of time and money. It is nothing compared to what they advertise. The instructor constantly walks always to grab tools from downstairs she forgot to grab- unprepared. With that being said, you’re doing your own thing majority of the time rather than being lead as a class. When asking questions, response is “whatever you feel” “be a mad scientist” which granted, that’s the name of the class but it almost gave off that she had no clue about mixology. Rather than talking about the actual activity itself, she rambles on about her own personal life. I personally would not recommend this to anyone. It came out to ~$200 for you to make drinks in test tubes with not enough mixers. During the intro she mentioned how she would refill/restock items after, which she didn’t, we had to ask for water. Worst money ever spent for an “out of the norm” date for me. If you have never once made a cocktail before in your life, it could potentially be fun. But for the price, you’re better off just buying some supplies yourself.
