- Trinity Episcopal Church - Trinity Episcopal Church is a historic and vibrant place of worship, celebrated for its Gothic Revival architecture and its pivotal role in local history. Established in 1746 as Augusta Parish, it holds the distinction of being the oldest church in Staunton.
A key artistic highlight is its remarkable collection of stained-glass windows, featuring a dozen pieces from Louis Comfort Tiffany Studios, representing his 40-year career. This collection illustrates five unique styles of American church glass from the 1850s onwards.
The Virginia General Assembly convened here from June 7-23, 1781, after escaping British forces during the Revolutionary War.
The Neo-Gothic building is accompanied by a rectory (1872) and a Parish House (1874, the first of its kind in Virginia). The church is also home to a contemporary Taylor & Boody pipe organ.
