• Spearfish Canyon - This guided tour starts with a pickup from your Rapid City hotel around 8:30 AM. The journey begins with a drive to Sturgis, a town renowned for its Motorcycle Rally held during the first week of August. The tour will cover the town’s history, the motorcycle rally, and Ft. Meade, a peace-keeping fort established in 1878, currently utilized by the Veterans’ Administration and the South Dakota National Guard.

Next, the tour proceeds to the town of Spearfish, where you will enter the picturesque Spearfish Canyon, known for its limestone cliffs, waterfalls, and a mix of evergreen, birch, and aspen trees. There will be stops for photography and sightseeing.

• Lead - From Spearfish Canyon, the tour continues to the town of Lead, where you will learn about its history and view its historic buildings and landmarks. A 30-minute stop at the Homestake Mine Visitor Center is included to see the open cut mine, which was the largest gold mine in the western hemisphere for 125 years before its closure. It has been donated to the State of South Dakota and is now an underground National Science Lab, reaching a depth of 8,000 ft.
• Deadwood, South Dakota - Following this, the tour heads to Deadwood with a stop in Pluma at the Chubby Chipmunk Chocolate Shop, famous for the best truffles in the Black Hills (optional stop). The journey continues to Deadwood, a historic town that was part of the last Gold Rush in the Continental USA in 1876.

The tour can include a drive to Mt. Moriah Cemetery, where you can walk to see the graves of Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, and others. Alternatively, a local one-hour bus tour is available, taking you directly to the graves.

Visitors can explore the 1892 Victorian Adams House, the Tatanka Buffalo Jump bronze statues, or the Adams Museum. There will be time to discover the downtown area and its historic buildings, including the site where Wild Bill Hickok was shot, Saloon #10, which features antiques and historic photographs.
