• Sullivan - The first half of the tour follows Route 1, departing from a preferred local pickup point in the Bar Harbor area. The first stop is in Sullivan, where there is a lookout point offering views of Cadillac Mountain.

• Milbridge - The next stop is in the charming downtown of Milbridge, with an opportunity to visit a local coffee shop housed in a renovated 1800s building.

• Cherryfield - In this town built along the river, the picturesque autumn leaves fall around the stone bridge that the tour walks along. The river provides a gorgeous reflective backdrop for the changing foliage.

• Franklin - The first stop on the Route 182 return is at the top of the rumored haunted Catherine’s Hill. Depending on the condition of the leaves, an additional stop is made along this beautiful highway. The final stop is at a lookout along Long Lake, offering spectacular views of changing trees for miles around.

Embark on an autumn journey to discover the stunning beauty of Downeast Maine. This tour invites participants to uncover hidden treasures along the picturesque Maine coast and experience the local lifestyle. As the tour ventures onto coastal Route 1, there will be stops at scenic viewpoints to admire distant views of Bar Harbor. The journey includes stops in Milbridge for its unique ocean vistas, Cherryfield for its river scenery, and culminates in the hills of Blackswoods for spectacular lake and mountain views. Pickup can be arranged from any local hotel or rental within MDI. Alternatively, complimentary parking and pickup are available at the Gateway Visitors Center in Trenton.
