Amazing Cultural Experience at Metlakatla Native Reserve - This trip was absolutely amazing, from the scenic boat ride to the Yellow Hill hike and the native history and dances in the Long House. The Yellow Hill hike was breathtaking. It truly feels like you're in a different world with all the rocks surrounding you and the stunning ocean views. The rock art was impressive! Meeting the native children in the Long House, where they performed their cultural dances, was one of the highlights. It was so great to see that cultural heritage is still being passed on. Highly recommended for a small, intimate tour.

Once in a Lifetime Experience! - This tour was absolutely awesome! We started with a narrated boat ride over to Annette Island, home to Metlakatla. This unique community is the only Native reservation in Alaska, and you must be sponsored to visit, which made the experience even more special. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and taken on a hike up Yellow Hill. It truly felt like stepping into another world, surrounded by massive boulders and rewarded with stunning views of the community and mountain range from the top. Next, we visited the clan house, where we experienced traditional dancing and learned about the culture and traditions of the Tsimshian people. The tour finished at the artist village on the waterfront, where we admired beautiful, handcrafted artwork while enjoying incredible views of the water. This tour was such a meaningful and memorable way to experience the life and culture of the Tsimshian people. I highly recommend it! It’s truly a once in a lifetime experience!

Yellow Hill is breathtaking, a must see tour! - The True Alaskan Tour to Annette island was fantastic! The hike up Yellow Hill area is really magical and highlights the natural beauty of the area, including some very cool geological formations. The views at the top are breathtaking and provide full, panoramic views of surrounding islands and the ocean. So beautiful! The traditional dancing performed by Metlakatla residents was so much fun and interactive, watching all the little kids was my favorite part. Our guides were very friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you enjoy nature and want to escape some of the cruise ship crowds and learn a little about the traditional culture of Southeast Alaska.
