Exploring Fairbanks in December at -45F and stayed warm! - We travelled to Fairbanks for a family vacation during the -40F cold snap in December. Lauryn was wonderful and helped us choose the right cold weather parkas, snowpants and boots. She even had inner jackets to make sure we were very warm. We caught the aurora several nights and it was everything we hoped it would be. Such a great trip. We chose hotel concierge service to return our gear to save time. We were a group
Of 12. It was so convenient and cost less than a cab or Lyft.

Lifesaver for Fairbanks Cold — Great Gear Rental Option - Visiting Fairbanks in winter can be deceiving — even if you bring ski clothing, it’s often not warm enough for the extreme cold. Alaska Outdoor Gear Rental is an excellent option for anyone who arrives and quickly realizes they need warmer, more serious cold-weather gear.
They offer proper parkas, snow pants, boots, and layering options so you don’t have to overpack or buy expensive gear just for one trip. Being able to rent additional layers or a heavier parka makes a huge difference, especially in Fairbanks temperatures.
This is a great solution for travelers who want to stay comfortable and safe in the cold without bringing everything with them. Highly recommend keeping them in mind when visiting Fairbanks in winter.

Great gear! Kept us warm all night! - Very friendly service, great quality gear (Northface and Kavik). I got the extreme package even if it’s not that cold since I’m from Hawaii and not used to cold. Gear kept us warm and comfortable for hours standing outside taking Aurora photos. Didn’t have to go warm up in the van even once. Loved that the pants had zippers on the side so we didn’t overheat while riding inside the tour van. Texted the company directly after purchase to coordinate and pay for pick up and drop off.

5 Star Options! - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
We rented our cold weather gear from here and had a great experience. The staff was super friendly and helped us pick from a great selection of quality gear. Everything held up perfectly and kept us warm and comfortable, which made it easy to enjoy the Alaskan outback. We will definitely use them again when we come back in the winter!

Like new gear and friendly service - We were so glad we rented our gear from Alaska Outdoor Gear Rental. First of all, the owner of the Fairbanks location was so friendly and helpful on the phone. They were able to drop off and pick up our gear at our hotel so we could use it on our first night (late flight arrival time). Then when I needed to swap out my boots for a different fit, they were very accommodating and made it very easy for us to get another pair. We were very pleased with the quality of the gear—everything was super clean and practically new, and the waterproof boots kept our feet nice and toasty even at night walking through snowdrifts. I was glad that we also added the ice spikes -- we did a lot of walking around in the dark looking at the aurora and the spikes helped us feel more sure of our footing on icy patches. Would highly recommend renting gear from them if you want to save on luggage space.

Family Winter Holiday Aurora Vacation in Fairbanks - We rented the extreme cold package and had it delivered to Pike Hotel. Everything fit great except one person needed to swap out boots. They delivered the another pair quickly. Loved how quick and easy everything was. The Extreme Cold weather gear was very clean and in great condition. We liked how we could chose parka, snowpant, boot types. They had many options and styles. We also rented Snowshoes, jet boil and Bear spray for hiking in Denali. We took the recommendation from Lauryn, to stop along the way as we drove back to Anchorage at the end of our trip. So glad we did. It was a gorgeous drive. We had a great trip of Aurora viewing, Dog Sledding, Snowmobiling and Winter Hiking in Denali.

They have options to pick-up, drop-off, or delivery in multiple locations which is what we needed. They were so flexible and NICE, would highly recommend!!
