Explore the captivating subterranean realm of Cave Okinawa, also known locally as Nuchishinujigama, a limestone cave rich in natural splendor, historical significance, and spiritual importance.
This extraordinary cave is recognized as one of Okinawa’s renowned “power spots,” believed to bestow good fortune and positive energy. Its name holds profound historical significance, linked to two incredible events where lives were miraculously preserved. During the Battle of Okinawa, nearly 300 residents took refuge within the cave and survived without any casualties. Earlier, in the Ryukyu Kingdom era, a prince from Nakijin Castle reportedly found sanctuary here following a battle.
Inside the cave, visitors can marvel at a variety of unique limestone formations, including the rare Red and White Stalactite, considered a lucky symbol after two children were born nearby during wartime.
