Day 1: Cusco - km 104 – Machu Picchu

Day 1: Cusco - km 104 – Machu Picchu
Inca Trail - Begin the day with an early departure from Cusco to Ollantaytambo, followed by a picturesque train journey to Km 104, the starting point of the trek. From the outset, the trail showcases breathtaking Andean landscapes and significant archaeological sites, including Chachabamba, before proceeding to the remarkable Wiñay Wayna, renowned as one of the most beautiful complexes along the path.
During the hike, a box lunch is provided, offering a chance to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. In the afternoon, the trail leads to Inti Punku (Sun Gate), where the first unforgettable panoramic view of Machu Picchu awaits. A bus will take you down to Aguas Calientes, where dinner is included at a local restaurant, followed by an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Machu Picchu - Cusco
Machu Picchu - Early in the morning, the group will reconvene to revisit the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. This site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The morning will be spent on a comprehensive tour of the Inca city, exploring houses, squares, terraces, viewpoints, temples, and enjoying spectacular views. After the tour, a bus will take you back to Machu Picchu town. In the afternoon, the return journey to Cusco will be by train and car.
