  • A very important factor which alter our world is global warming, which has evolved into a high risky contributor due to the glaciers melting in Peruvian Andes, and it also affect the normal development of our weather.
  • Nonetheless, something that is very marked in our country and in some cities here in the Andes is that we only have 2 main seasons during the year:
  • Dry Season: We consider the dry season from the end of April until the end of September, in this period the first rains will start. For this reason, this is the best time to visit our region and our amazing Machu Picchu and also avoid any inconveniences.
  • Rainy Season: This season starts on October until the end of April approximately, so during this time it is advised to all of our visitors to pack their belongings into waterproof bags, as in our region it can be sunny the first 2 hours and then have a heavy rain.
  • We know that there are extreme climates worldwide, but this must not stop us from our longing and desire to explore the world, to discover marvelous cultures and interact with them. Be welcomed to Perú and Machu Picchu.
  • This mountain is located inside Machu Picchu Archaeological Park, which is located at 300 meters more than Machu Picchu Inca Citadel; here it takes approximately just 45 minutes hiking up and other 45 minutes hiking down. This Mountain conserves some archaeological remains as the Moon Temple and other precincts that are interconnected with authentic trails, steps, tunnels and natural formatted caves which made the view more interesting. Without any doubt, this is one of the best attractions of Machu Picchu; the Huayna Picchu Mountain offers a 360 grades view and a stunning view of Machu Picchu Inca Citadel, Machu Picchu
  • Mountain and the famous Sun Gate (Inti Punku). Currently our government through Ministry of Culture, maintain the visitors income controlled per day, only 400 tickets are offered per day and divided in 2 groups of 200 each. The first schedule starts from 7:00 to 08:00 am and the second from 10:00 to 11:00 am, for this reason its demand is growing day by day and if any of our visitors is interested in this hike, then it is necessary to make a booking at least with 3 months in advance in order to guarantee their visit to this extraordinary place.
  • This mountain is located inside the park as well, and is only 1:20 hrs away hiking by your own. Once you reach the summit, you will take impressive photos with panoramic views of the entire valley in which is situated Machu Picchu inca citadel, you will also have impressive views of the Andes Mountain range and the glaciers that protect this unique ecosystem.
  • The demand to obtain permits for this hike is quickly growing up, for this we advise a minimum of 2 months in advance to book the tickets, as there is a limit for visitors per day to experience this amazing hike. This hike has 2 schedules, the first from 07:00 am to 08:00 am and the second from 09:00 am to 10:00 am with a limit of 200 people per group.

Unforgettable experience with Kenko & our guide Elvis - Kenko adventures was absolutely fantastic for any Spanish or English speaker. We had Elvis as our guide and he was unreal! I spoke to him a few weeks prior to our trip about planning a trip and logistics. He was able to understand our situation and design a plan for us that went flawlessly. Not only was the Machu Picchu experience amazing but we had a free day in Cusco which Elvis was able to plan a one day experience to "rainbow mountain". Another great hike that shows a different side of the andes mountain range. His knowledge and care for detail was tremendous to be around and learn from. If you are planning to come to Cusco and want to get a top quality, small group feel, choose Kenko and ask specifically for Elvis. There are other groups and guides to choose from but while walking around Machu Picchu, I felt incredibly grateful to have Elvis and his knowledge. Truly passionate about sharing history, stories and knowledge of Peru.

Muchas Gracias Elvin! - We had an incredible experience hiking the Inca trail with our guide Elvin during our Machu Picchu adventure. Everything was impeccably organized, and Elvin's wealth of experience truly shone as he guided us through the unknown trail. His insights into the history of Machu Picchu were captivating, and the Quinoa meal he provided for lunch was exceptional. This experience will stay with me forever. Many thanks to Kenko for their exceptional service.

Great experience - What a great experience. Highlight of the trip to Peru. Kenko adventures took care of everything - from private transfer to the train station, buying our train tickets, providing a delicious lunch and snacks, and making sure we returned to our hotel safely. Our tour guide was Victor who was excellent. He kept a good pace, allowing time to stop for rest and stop for pictures. He was extremely knowledgable about Peru, Incan history, and Machu Picchu. I really enjoyed that Victor was able to provide a lot of knowledge but also allowed my friends and I to just enjoy the hike and scenery without feeling the need to constantly engage. There were times where the hike was challenging but overall the 1 day short inca trail is great for travelers who are short on time or can't do the full inca trail. Overall, Kenko Adventures was a great experience. Highly recommend this!

Great one day Inca hike - Booking the one day Inca trail hike + Machu Picchu experience with Kenko was the right choice. All the pickups and transfers were seamless and clear, Kenko was kind enough to provide a pickup from the airport to our accommodations even though our hike was only a few days later. Our guide Victor was very experienced, knowledgeable and a great fun to be with. He knew how to keep a good pace, when to give breaks while sharing interesting facts about Peruvian flora and fauna, and gave us tips on food and culture. At Machu Picchu, he was a literal walking library of information about the history from pre-Inca times, Inca times to today. He was very patient with our numerous questions and whenever we stopped to snap photos. If you aren't sure about full Inca hike, this one day Inca hike is a very good alternative. And if you are doing it, then Kenko is an awesome choice.

Fantastic Experience! Best tour operator & guide we've ever had! - AMAZING! Everything is taken care of from start to finish. Elvis the owner spoke with us the day before to explain the trip & talk through any questions we had. All pick ups, transfers, tickets & lunch was provided. The 1-day hike is perfect if you want the Inca trail experience but you're too short on time for the full trek. Our guide Victor truely made this a dream come true for us, he was good fun to spend the day with, very knowledgeable on Machu Picchu history, spoke excellent english...and can even help you get that 'insta worthy' snap. I couldn't rate this experience more highly - book your ticket, you won't regret it!!

Incredible Inca Trail experience with Kenko Adventures - I am so glad that my cousin booked with Kenko Adventures for our 4 day Inca Trail excursion. I had no idea what to expect, except she said they were a local company with good reviews. From start to finish, the attention to detail was impressive. They provided us with pre-trip information which was extremely helpful. Once we reached Cusco, the pre-hike meeting was well informed and prepared gradually for each step of the journey. As we started the hike, the tour guide Victor (whom I highly recommend you request) was extremely knowledgeable and so passionate about his heritage, which permeated in "history time" lessons. He also was so prepared, carrying an portable oxygen tank and having trekked the Inca Trail over 700 times in almost 20 years, he was extremely experienced. Finally, but not last, the food and service. I was expecting basic camping food; I was wrong... Celsin was our chef and the team of porters were extremely capable and impressive/delicious meals. He made culinary dishes which I was surprised were not made in a high end restaurant. The porters were incredible and helpful. They were so worried about us one day that they brought sandwiches and tea since we were slow/late for dinner. I saw other larger groups with one or two guides for 16 hikers, and I loved our small private group. The intimate group environment, plus the local company with gourmet meals an experienced tour guide in Victor is a combination for success.

Great Hike! - This tour was great! We had a group of 4 and Victor was our tour guide. He was professional, so knowledgable, and we had a wonderful time!! We loved our "history lessons" when he would teach us about the culture and history behind Machu Picchu. This tour was not only a great hike (and workout), but so customizable to your needs--you can hike faster or slower and Victor will tailor your tour to your needs. Would 100% recommend.

Amazing experience with Kenko - We made the best decision going with Kenko adventures. Elvis, our tour guide was exactly who you want on a demanding trek such as the one day Inca trail. Very positive and motivating throughout the hike. He's very well informed and shares the latest findings about the Inca people. It shows he keeps up with the research. As for the hike itself, we were able to get a private tour with him for a very reasonable price compared to the other treks. Very flexible and he adapted very well to our pace and fitness levels. They also provide trekking poles if you need them which most places do it at an extra cost. We did a lot of research and decided to go with Kenko Adventures and was easily the best decision we made. Well prepared, great company, organized, no surprises and at a reasonable price.

Great experience! Highly recommend Machu Picchu 1 Day Trek - I would highly recommend using Kenko Adventures! We had an amazing time with Elvis as our tour guide and felt so informed and supported for the entirety of our trip. He met with us the night before to outline all details and answer any questions, and during our hike was very knowledgeable about the Inca trail, Inca people, and Machu Picchu. The lunch provided was also a ton of food! I can’t recommend this tour enough
