Cusco - KM 104 - Sungate - Machu Picchu

Inca Trail - Guests will be collected from their hotel at 4:30 am and driven for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to KM 104, where the Inca trail tour begins. Prepare for a 4-hour hike from KM 104 to Wiñaywayna, during which the guide will share insights about the local flora, fauna, and Inca sites. Lunch will be served in Wiñaywayna. Following lunch, a 2-hour hike will lead to the Sungate, offering the first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu. Take time to appreciate the view from above before embarking on a 40-minute descent to Machu Picchu, where the sunset can be enjoyed and iconic photos can be taken. (The short Inca trail allows for a view of Machu Picchu from the lookout on the first day and exploration on the second day). Afterward, a bus will transport guests to Aguas Calientes for an overnight stay, dinner, and coordination for the next day’s visit to Machu Picchu.

Exploring Machu Picchu

Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu - Guests will be picked up from the hotel reception at 5:30 am to catch the bus to Machu Picchu, arriving at 6:00 am to witness the sunrise. The guide will highlight the best temples, sectors, and details of Machu Picchu, including the Temple of the Three Windows, the Temple of the Water Mirrors, the Temple of the Condor, and the Stone Quarry. The guides are known for their patience, knowledge, and local heritage. After the tour, guests will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon, at 2:30 pm, the train will depart for Ollantaytambo station, followed by a van ride back to Cusco, arriving around 6:00 pm.
