As the group hikes through the rainforest and along the Celeste River, they will witness one of nature’s most stunning phenomena, visible in only a few places worldwide. Here, a freshwater river merges with a volcanic-mineral river, resulting in a breathtaking turquoise hue in the water.
After appreciating the magnificent waterfall, one of Costa Rica’s most unique hidden treasures, the hike will continue towards the Teñideros sector. There, participants will enjoy a spectacular view of the Tenorio Volcano and Cerro Montezuma. Since swimming is not permitted in the national park’s protected areas, the group will be taken to a local natural pool within the Celeste River, where they can swim in the turquoise waters. Following the swim, the tour will visit a renowned hidden gem known locally as Arbol de la Paz, a towering “Ceiba Pentandra tree” over 150 feet tall. A traditional Costa Rican lunch will be ready afterward; on the return journey, there will be a surprise stop to admire additional local wildlife.
