Upon reaching the adventure center, guests will be taken on a 25-minute drive to the park’s outskirts. There, a guide will provide an introduction to this remarkable natural area, which features one of the country’s most active volcanoes.
Participants will enjoy a walk along an accessible forest trail, encountering various natural wonders such as giant strangler ficus trees, a seasonal waterfall, the “little volcano,” smoking fumaroles, and the renowned boiling mud pools. Wildlife sightings may include black iguanas, white-nosed coatis, howler monkeys, white-faced capuchins, and toucans. The trail spans 2 miles and takes approximately 2.5 hours to complete. After the hike, guests will return to the adventure center for a delightful lunch. Following the meal, they will board an unimog truck for an exciting ride to the starting point of the second hike to La Leona Waterfall.
