- Gorges Viewpoint - Situated in one of the highest areas of the National Park, this viewpoint offers a breathtaking view of the valley, rich with vibrant green vegetation and the occasional sight of the majestic Paille En Queue, the national bird of Mauritius, gracefully gliding in its natural habitat.
- Rhumerie de Chamarel - Since 2008, the Chamarel distillery has been producing its renowned rum products. They cultivate their own sugarcane, which is hand-harvested and meticulously selected for crafting Chamarel white and aged rums. Freshly harvested sugarcane is transported to the distillery within four hours to maintain its freshness and aroma.
Visitors can observe the distillation process before sampling some of the finest rum, uniquely refined using a special cognac method, resulting in a product rich in aromas.
- Rhumerie de Chamarel Restaurant & Rum Distillery - Delight in a sumptuous lunch at ‘L’Alchimiste’ restaurant, which specializes in unique cuisine prepared with local ingredients sourced from the estate itself. (Located at Chamarel Rhumerie)
- Chamarel Waterfalls - Originating from the St. Denis river and flowing through the Black River Gorges, the Chamarel Waterfall is the island’s tallest, cascading from a height of approximately 83 meters.
Visitors will cherish the unforgettable experience of the Chamarel Waterfall, set in a breathtaking location surrounded by lush landscapes.
- Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth Geopark - Known as the island’s most popular tourist attraction, the Seven Coloured Earths of Chamarel is a must-see for anyone visiting Mauritius.
Formed from volcanic basalt rocks, rain and sun transformed them into the clay minerals seen today. Weather conditions washed away water-soluble substances, leaving compounds that give the soil its unique colors. The varying quantities of these compounds result in distinctly different soil colors. Impressively, if the seven earths are mixed, they will separate and return to their original colors.

Viewpoint - The Chamarel Viewpoint is a family-friendly spot offering a stunning panoramic view of the Chamarel village below.
Visitors are encouraged to bring sunglasses and a camera to capture the splendid view of the green hilly region and an aerial view of Ile Aux Benitiers. - The Martello Tower Museum - The next stop takes visitors back in time with a visit to the ‘Martello Tower’ located on La Preneuse beach.
Constructed during British rule in Mauritius, the Martello Tower was used to spot invaders from afar and protect the beach. In the 1990s, it was converted into a museum showcasing the weapons used by the British Empire.
*On this tour, visits to the Martello Tower Museum are on Wednesday and Friday only. When closed, a photo stop will be made instead.
- Tamarin Salt Pans - The Tamarin Salt Pans, the last place in Mauritius to produce salt using traditional methods, is rich in local culture and history. Despite modern salt production methods, Tamarin salt pans still account for about a third of Mauritius’s salt production.
Seawater is pumped into large basins covering 30 hectares, where it is left to evaporate. In the early mornings and evenings, skilled workers collect the salt cubes, which are then crushed into smaller pieces if necessary and packaged for use.
- Albion Lighthouse - Located on Mauritius’s west coast, the Albion Lighthouse is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. Although the lighthouse itself is not open to the public, it is worth admiring as one of the island’s rare lighthouses.
A few meters beyond the lighthouse, a viewpoint offers a view over the sea to the left of Mauritius. Visitors can calmly watch as strong waves crash against the rocks, sprinkling fine droplets of water everywhere. Spend a few moments soaking in the natural calm and serenity of this special place.
