The tour begins with a view of the Town Hall, showcasing its vibrant murals and 16th-century astronomical clock. The impressive exterior murals extend to the older section of the building, depicting virtues, commandments, and vices.

Get your cameras ready for our next stop: Ulm Minster, the tallest church in the world, and the fourth tallest building until the 20th century. It took approximately 500 years to complete and is now a significant landmark in Ulm.

Nearby, we’ll pause for photos at The Dolphin Fountain. Known for its intricate design, featuring 52 inter-crossing water jets and reflective wet metal, this fountain is considered one of the most beautiful in Germany. Its “water display” is especially captivating when illuminated at night. If you thought the Leaning Tower of Pisa was unique, think again. We’ll visit the “leaning tower of Ulm,” The Butchers Tower, once part of Ulm’s fortifications. The tower leans 2.05 meters northwest, at a 3.3° angle (compared to Pisa’s 5.1°).

Our tour continues to Ulm’s most romantic area: Fishermen’s Quarter. Join us through its narrow streets, streams, bridges, and historic houses. Despite its name, the area was home to wealthy merchants and ship owners who traded along the Danube, not impoverished fishermen. The old houses reflect their former owners’ affluence.

Next, we’ll visit Ulm’s most famous site: the Crooked House. Its roof leans impressively at a 9 to 10° angle over the river Blau, earning it a spot in the 1997 Guinness Book of Records as the world’s most extremely leaning hotel. The house’s design—narrow at the base, wider at the top—served its purpose for fishing, net repair, and fish storage. A boat landing was at the base, with the upper floors acting as a roof.

Our tour concludes on the Neu-Ulm side with a pleasant walk along the river, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the old town.
