Genghis Khan Square - Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, the guide will greet you and transfer you to a 4-star hotel located in the heart of the city. If time allows, explore the downtown area, which has been rapidly embracing global culture over the past decade. At 6 pm, enjoy a folk performance featuring traditional music, folk songs, and throat singing. This will be followed by a welcome dinner and a tour briefing hosted by the guide.
Transfer to the Starting Point and Cycle Across Grasslands to XIII Century Royal Camp
Chinggis Khaan Statue - After breakfast, transfer to the outskirts of Ulaanbaatar. Once the bikes are assigned and adjusted, begin a 10km leisurely ride across expansive grasslands. The terrain is mostly packed soil, ideal for biking. Expect some short rocky sections, grassy trails, and stream crossings, adding to the adventure. As the day progresses, the landscape alternates between grasslands, mountain slopes, and scenic rock formations. The destination is the XIII Century Royal Camp, a stylized representation of a medieval nobleman’s camp, complete with lavish interiors and a wild setting, devoid of modern amenities, creating an authentic atmosphere. After the visit, continue to a tent camp featuring spacious 2-person tents, a shower tent, a camping toilet, and a dining tent for socializing and meals. A support team of guides, drivers, and cooks will accompany you throughout the day, providing guidance, meals, and camping facilities.
Cycle Across the Great Steppe to Khenty Mountain Range
Khan Khentii Mountain National Park - Today, experience the vastness of the Mongolian grassland, often referred to as the steppe, a boundless expanse where the horizon stretches endlessly. The immensity and purity of the landscape are awe-inspiring. Only a few nomadic tents and domestic animals are visible today. Encounters with herders offer a wonderful opportunity to learn about local culture and lifestyle, as well as a fantastic photographic opportunity. This evening, camp at the edge of the Siberian mountains.
Cycle in the Khenty Mountain Range, Scenes of Local Life
Khan Khentii Mountain National Park - As you venture further into the mountains, enjoy a leisurely ride along scenic slopes covered in Siberian woods, dotted with the white, mushroom-like homes of nomadic Mongols, offering a glimpse into a lifestyle that has remained unchanged for centuries. Large flocks of sheep and goats, along with horses and cattle, graze nearby. Visit a nomadic family to taste local food and dairy products. Spend another night in tents at a stunning campsite surrounded by lush meadows and woods.
Last Cycling Day. Visit Chinggis Khaan Statue. Night in Mongolian Gers
Chinggis Khaan Statue - On the final day of cycling, ride along mountain slopes adorned with patches of larch and other coniferous trees. These forests are home to bears, wolves, lynx, and boars, as well as herbivores like elk, various deer species, and many fur-bearing animals typical of boreal forests. While encountering wild animals during the warm seasons on human-frequented trails is unlikely, the vast wilderness is palpable. After lunch, bid farewell to the support team and drive to visit the giant statue of Chinggis Khan on horseback, a Guinness World Record holder as the world’s tallest equestrian statue. Here, take a final look at the grasslands and capture a photo with “Man of the Millennium,” Chinggis Khan. Optional activities include camel riding, photographing with a Golden Eagle, or having your name written in traditional Mongolian calligraphy.
Archery Lesson, Return to Ulaanbaatar; Optional Sightseeing and Shopping
Bogd Khaan Palace Museum of Mongolia - After breakfast, participate in a Mongolian archery session in a scenic outdoor setting. The guide will introduce the history of this ancient technology before you try your hand at the sport. Then, return to Ulaanbaatar and visit the Winter Palace of Bogd Khan, which houses rare statues of Buddhist deities and personal belongings of Mongolia’s last king. After lunch, stroll through the central city square, featuring a grand statue of Chinggis Khan. If time permits, before the final dinner at a hotpot restaurant, visit the largest cashmere shop in Ulaanbaatar.
