Your host, who was born in the Gobi Desert and grew up in a ger district, embodies the journey of modern Mongolia. Each street on this tour tells a part of that narrative.
The adventure begins at Chinggis Square, continues through neighborhoods often missed by travelers, and then pauses at the apartment for Mongolian herbal tea and Shagai, a traditional ankle bone game cherished by Mongolians for centuries. Together, participants will create Tsuivan from scratch, Mongolia’s cherished fried noodle dish, by rolling the dough, cutting the noodles, and cooking them on the stove. Lunch is enjoyed around the family table.
Participants will leave with a recipe card, a satisfied appetite, and a true appreciation of Ulaanbaatar as a vibrant and evolving city.
