Traveling 110 kilometers southwest of Ulaanbaatar, visitors arrive at Khustain Nuruu, a conservation area focused on protecting Mongolia’s wild horses, known as takhi or Przewalski’s horses. These horses, once on the brink of extinction in the wild, have been successfully reintroduced at Khustain National Park through joint efforts with international environmental organizations from 1992 to 2004, ensuring the takhi population’s resurgence.
