Mongolian History, Nature and Culture in a Day Trip - Great experience, beginning with prompt pickup at hotel, time in the car with tour guide with opportunity to ask questions and discuss culture. Great perspectives driving out into countryside to the Chinggis Khan complex. Experiences at complex were included in the trip cost: camel ride, holding eagle in gloved hand, donning costumes for photo ops, entrance fees. National Park was enjoyable. Climbing Turtle Rock was a memorable challenge! Meal in a yurt with traditional food and drink available for purchase. Guide was fluent in English.

Fantastic trip to Terelj National Park and the Chinggis Khan statue complex! - This was a fantastic day trip from Ulaanbaatar. The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish, although there was some initial confusion about the pick-up time from my hotel. My guide was extremely friendly and lively, making the whole trip full of energy and excitement to see and explore everything. He was very passionate about Mongolian history, and he was able to bring it to life when we were exploring the museum at the statue complex. Similarly, he was fantastic for taking photos and videos for me – I was very appreciative of this! You get to handle a Mongolian eagle briefly – just for photos, and then ride around the statue complex for a short while on camelback. We were quite lucky that we were also offered to have a go at some archery with a Mongolian-style bow, which was a lot of fun! We had lunch in a yurt a short drive away where there are lots of yurt restaurants, and we had a decent meal to make sure we had sufficient energy for hiking later! The trip to Turtle Rock was fun too. Although it was quite cold (particularly because it was a bit windy!) and a little slippery in some places, the guide helped find a good route up the rocks to get a nice viewpoint and also shelter from the wind once up. There are a few tight spaces into which you can go, and we did try, but it was a little tough because we had thicker clothing and layers, so it was tighter than perhaps it would be if you went in warmer months. The hike up to the monastery was not far from Turtle Rock, and the views are absolutely spectacular. This was perhaps my favourite part of the day; the sun was setting behind the mountains, and you could see so far. The monastery itself is famous for being a space for meditation, and was very pretty. It actually houses a statue of the mummified meditating monk that was discovered in Mongolia as well. I 100% would recommend this day trip to anybody visiting Mongolia.

Fantastic tour with superb guides - Thoroughly enjoyable, informative and entertaining tour of Chinggis Khan complex and Terelj national park with well-trained guides, leading to a highly educational day learning about the Mongol Empire whilst escaping the bustling capital city. Terelj national park in the mountains was a surprise, breathing in clean mountain air. Highly recommended tour.

Friendly, professional worth it tour - We had Baga as our guide who was fantastic. Keeping the mood up and giving us information about what we saw. We were unlucky with the weather (rain) but it didn’t dampen the experience though zoomed through the activities at the complex and couldn’t hike Turtle Rock as would be dangerous. Baga even purchased some rain jackets for us to use as we were getting that soaked (we were his teletubbies!) which was appreciated. Great taste in western music as well for the car journey, Well organised and worth the cost. Lunch was great as well and absolutely plenty given (the 6 of us on the tour didn’t finish it all). Would recommend this tour!

Excellent Experience - Must Do! - This was a great experience. The Mongolian countryside is beautiful. Our guide (Baati) took great photos of all of us and had a positive attitude, even with all the traffic we encountered in UB. His English is excellent, as well as his driving skills. My group had about ten people, which was just right. You have the option of dressing in traditional clothing while at the statue. It is part of the package, and I highly recommend you do it. The outfits are authentic, and they have some weight to them. I took about 200 photos on this trip, and I’m not the type of person that usually takes so many. This trip is a must-do!
