Drive to Machha Khola from Kathmandu (900m./2952ft. Approx. 8 - 9 hrs)

Machhakhola - The trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Machha Khola, lasting approximately 8 to 9 hours. Travelers can choose between a private or shared vehicle, with the private option being more costly.

For the best views of the stunning landscapes, securing a window seat is recommended. Upon arrival, accommodation will be arranged in a welcoming teahouse in Machha Khola.

Day 2: Trek to Jagat from Machha Khola (1340m.|4396ft. Approx. 5 - 6 hrs trek)

Jagat - On the second day, the journey continues from Machha Khola to Jagat. The trek follows the Budi Gandaki riverbank, passing through charming Gurung villages, including the scenic lower Khorlabeshi. Travelers should take the opportunity to admire the traditional Bokkhu attire worn by the locals.

The route includes a stop at Tatopani for a soothing hot water bath. Afterward, the trek crosses the Budi Gandaki River via a suspension bridge, continuing to Dobhan.

A few hours of trekking lead to the quaint village of Jagat. It’s important to note that Jagat marks the start of the restricted area, so obtaining the necessary trekking permits from the check post is essential.

Trek from Jagat to Deng (1865m.|6102ft. Approx. 6 - 7 hrs trek)

Trek from Deng to Namrung (2630m.|8626ft. Approx. 7 - 8 hrs trek) AP/ Tsak

Namrung - On the fourth day, the trek from Deng to Namrung takes approximately 7 to 8 hours. The journey involves crossing a suspension bridge and ascending to Rana and Bihi Phedi.

Along the trail, travelers may spot delightful white-faced monkeys. The path passes through Ghap, where caution is advised due to landslide-prone areas.

Continuing along the trail, the trek reaches Namrung, a charming village known for its excellent teashops and guest houses, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Trek from Namrung to Sama Gaon (3520m.|11549ft. Approx. 6-7 hrs trek)

Samagaun - On the fifth day, the trek proceeds from Namrung to Sama Gaon, covering approximately 15.5 kilometers or 9.63 miles in about 6 to 7 hours.

As the trek ascends, it reaches an altitude of 3,520 meters, offering captivating views of the surrounding landscapes. The beautiful Manaslu and Manaslu North can be seen along the way.

The route passes through several Tibetan villages, including Shyo, Lho, and Shyala, before reaching Sama Gaon. This picturesque village nestled in the mountains is the destination for the day, where travelers can immerse themselves in the local culture, interact with friendly villagers, and enjoy breathtaking mountain vistas.

Acclimatization Day at Sama Gaon (Short Day Trip to Manaslu Base Camp or Pungyen Gompa)

Trek from Sama Gaon to Dharmasala (4460m.|14633ft. Approx. 6 - 7 hrs trek)

Trek from Dharamshala to Bhimthang (Larkya La 5106m.|16751ft. | 4000m.|13120ft. Approx. 7- 8 hrs trek)

Bimthang - The longest walk of the journey takes place today, from Dharamshala to Bhimtang, lasting around 8 to 9 hours.

The trek towards the Larkya La pass involves crossing the glacial moraine and passing by four frozen lakes. Travelers will be captivated by the stunning views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Gyaji Kung, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II.

After reaching the pass, the descent through grassy moraine leads to Bhimtang, where the night will be spent.

Trek from Bhimthang to Dharapani (1930m.|6440ft. Approx. 7 - 8 hrs trek)

Dharapani - On the ninth day, the trek continues from Bhimthang to Dharapani.

The trail gradually descends through the picturesque village of Karche, with the surroundings opening up. The descent follows the Budi Gandaki riverbank to Gho, then continues through lush farming fields to Tilje.

The journey proceeds past the charming village of Thonje, finally reaching Dharapani, where travelers can rest and rejuvenate.

Walk from Dharapani to Beshisahar and drive to Kathmandu/Pokhara (Approx. 7-8 hrs drive)

Besisahar - On the final day, the trek concludes with a journey from Dharapani to Besisahar.

Kathmandu - This segment involves a scenic drive lasting approximately 8 to 9 hours.

Upon reaching Besisahar, travelers can choose to continue to Kathmandu or Pokhara, depending on their travel plans. The drive back provides an opportunity to reflect on the incredible trekking experience in the Manaslu region, cherishing memories of breathtaking landscapes and the warm hospitality of local communities.
