Transfer from Kampala to Kasese District

Rwenzori Mountains National Park - Guests will be collected from Entebbe Airport or Kampala and transported to Kasese District.

A lunch break will be taken in Fort Portal. Upon arrival at the destination, guests will check into their accommodation.

Overnight stay at Ruboni Community Camp.

Start of the Hike: Nyakalengijo (1615m) to Nyabitaba Hut (2651m)

Rwenzori Mountains National Park - After breakfast, guests will meet with guides and porters who will lead them through the mystical challenge. A briefing will be provided on what to expect throughout the hike.

The trek begins through montane forests, crossing the Mubuku River. Guests will be captivated by the various stones along the riverbanks.

Hike through bamboo forests and spot colobus monkeys, Rwenzori turacos, and chameleons.

A lunch break will be taken before proceeding to the hut.

Overnight stay at Nyabitaba Hut.

Nyabitaba Hut (2615m) to John Matte Hut (3414m)

Rwenzori Mountains National Park - Enjoy breakfast and prepare for another day of hiking.

Guests will observe different types of vegetation along the way. The trek continues through the Kichuchu rocky area with stunning views of the Portal Peaks.

Cross Kichamba Rock Shelter and pass through the giant lobelia zone.

A lunch break will be taken, then proceed to John Matte Hut for an overnight stay near the Bujuku River.

John Matte Hut (3414m) to Bujuku Hut (3962m)

Rwenzori Mountains National Park - After breakfast, prepare for another thrilling trek with spectacular views and weather.

Trek through the lower Bigo Bog using wooden boardwalks. Reach Lake Bujuku, offering incredible views of Mt. Baker, Mt. Speke, and Mt. Stanley.

Enjoy the breathtaking waterfalls from various directions.

A lunch break stopover will be made before reaching Bujuku Hut for an overnight stay. Experience the boggy hike in Rwenzori.

Bujuku Hut (3962m) to Elena Hut (4541m)

Rwenzori Mountains National Park - More excitement and energy are required as guests approach the summit.

The day begins by climbing through the Scotti Pass, a steep rocky section.

Guests will pass through glacial landscapes, taking their time to reach the famous base of the summit/peak, which is Elena Hut.

Rest and prepare for the summit push at dawn.

Summit Day: Margherita Peak (5109m) and Descend to Kitandara Hut (4023m)

Rwenzori Mountains National Park - Begin the Margherita Peak ascent before dawn.

Cross the Stanley Plateau Glacier using ropes, crampons, and ice axes.

Depending on the group’s speed, guests will reach the summit of Margherita Peak at 5109 meters above sea level, the third highest peak in Africa.

Enjoy photo opportunities and later descend to Kitandara Hut for an overnight stay.

Kitandara Hut (4023m) to Guy Yeoman Hut (3261m)

Rwenzori Mountains National Park - Wake up feeling fulfilled to descend through the Fresh Field Pass with views of the Congo border.

Continue through the muddy terrain to reach Guy Yeoman Hut for an overnight stay.

Guy Yeoman Hut (3261m) to Nyakalengijo (1615m)

Rwenzori Mountains National Park - Final descent through the bamboo forests and Mubuku Valley.

Return to Nyakalengijo, receive a summit award certificate, and return to the accommodation camp.

Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe International Airport

Kampala - After a restful night and a hearty breakfast, guests will be transferred to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport according to their flight schedules.

A lunch break will be taken at Igongo Museum or the Equator for souvenirs before proceeding.
