Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Guests will be collected early in the morning from their hotel or Kigali International Airport by a professional driver-guide. Following a brief orientation, embark on a picturesque journey through Rwanda’s rolling hills towards the Cyanika border. Border procedures are typically straightforward and facilitated by the guide.

Proceed into southern Uganda, traveling through terraced landscapes and rural communities before reaching Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the afternoon. Check into the lodge, enjoy lunch or refreshments, and spend the remainder of the day unwinding and preparing for the first gorilla trek.

First Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Forest

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Participants will then be assigned a gorilla family and commence their first trekking experience, accompanied by skilled guides and trackers.

The trek may last between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. Once located, guests will spend an unforgettable hour observing them in their natural environment—watching them feed, interact, and move through the forest.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and a well-earned rest. The afternoon is free for relaxation, enjoying forest views, or taking a short community walk around the lodge.

Second Gorilla Trekking Experience – Return to Kigali

Kigali - Rise early for a second gorilla trekking experience, offering the opportunity to visit a different gorilla family or even a different sector (subject to permit allocation). This second trek provides a deeper understanding of gorilla behavior and often feels distinct from the first encounter.

Upon completing the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and freshen up. In the afternoon, begin the journey back to Kigali, crossing the border into Rwanda and arriving in the evening. Guests will be dropped off at their hotel or Kigali International Airport for their onward flight.
