Kibale National Park - Begin the journey to western Uganda, enjoying the lush green landscapes and tea plantations. There will be an opportunity to engage with the local community during a market walk after lunch. Following lunch, embark on a one-hour drive to Kibale Forest, where you may encounter monkeys, birds, and baboons along the way and during a stopover. Accommodation options are available to suit various budgets.
Chimpanzee Trekking
Kibale National Park - Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before setting off for a Chimpanzee walk. Kibale Forest National Park is home to approximately 13 primate species. Visitors can observe various monkeys, including the delightful Red Colobus, Grey-cheeked Mangabey, Black and White Colobus Monkey, L’Hoest Monkey, and the fascinating Chimpanzees. Spend an hour with these relatives during a 3-4 hour guided walk through the tropical rainforest. After lunch, visit Bigodi Swamp for a walk to spot monkeys and bird species, passing through grasslands and small communities where locals warmly greet visitors, and explore coffee plantations and gardens.
Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After breakfast, travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through the crater lakes region of Kabarole and enjoying a mini-game drive upon entering the park. Check into Park View Safari Lodge, have lunch, and relax. At 3:00 pm, embark on a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel to observe wildlife cooling off along the shores, connecting Lakes George and Edward. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Queen Elizabeth to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Start the day early with a 6:30 am game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, seeking wildlife such as Buffalos, Kobs, Warthogs, Elephants, Waterbucks, Lions, Hyenas, and occasionally Leopards. After a 2-3 hour game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast, check out, and drive to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector, where tree-climbing lions may be spotted. Enjoy a packed lunch en route and later check into Buhoma Community Rest Camp.
Gorilla Tracking
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After breakfast, head to the visitors’ center at 7:45 am for registration and briefing before beginning the gorilla trekking. The trek can be challenging, involving steep hills and muddy conditions, and may take 2-8 hours. Spend one hour with the gorillas for conservation purposes, with guidance on appropriate behavior. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National Park - After breakfast, check out and drive to Lake Mburo National Park, passing through the scenic hills of Kabale and Mbarara, with lunch en route. Arrive in the afternoon and check into Eagles’ Nest. Later, at around 4:00 pm, enjoy a boat cruise on the lake, lasting about one and a half hours. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Lake Mburo to Airport or Kampala
Entebbe - Start the day early with a morning nature walk to observe wildlife such as Buffaloes, Zebras, Warthogs, Impalas, Eland (Africa’s largest antelope), Topis, Bushbucks, Reedbucks, Waterbucks, Oribis, Bush Pigs, and Leopards. This walk typically lasts about two hours, depending on interest and observations. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then transfer back to Kampala with lunch en route, arriving in the afternoon to check into accommodation for dinner and overnight, or proceed directly to the airport for the flight home, depending on the flight schedule.
