Murchison Falls National Park - On the first day of the 10-day primates and wildlife safari in Uganda, the guide will pick up the guests from the hotel and provide a briefing about the safari. The journey to Murchison Falls National Park will begin, passing through the lush countryside and Luweero, where the guide will explain the impact of the war in Luweero on the current Ugandan government. The trip will continue to Murchison National Park with a lunch stop along the way. Upon arrival, guests will visit the top of the falls, where they can witness the breathtaking sight of water rushing through the 8-meter gorge and plunging 45 meters, causing the ground to tremble. Afterward, they will head to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise.
Murchison Falls National Park - Rise early for a delightful breakfast before the guide leads the group to the park’s prime locations for a game drive, preferably in the northern sector. Here, guests can spot wildlife such as giraffes, elephants, lions, antelopes, buffaloes, hartebeests, warthogs, and more. After the game drive, return for lunch and a brief rest. In the afternoon, head to the Nile for an exciting boat cruise. The cruise offers stunning views of the Nile and its surroundings, including Nile crocodiles, hippos, and various animals and bird species along the shores. Transfer from Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale National Park - Start the day with breakfast at the lodge, then pack and board the vehicle for the transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, renowned for hosting the largest number of primates in Uganda and East Africa. Depart Murchison Falls for a journey of approximately 6 hours, with a stop at Fort Portal town to admire the natural beauty of the Rwenzori ranges, crater lakes, and more. Consider a Bigodi swamp walk to observe the diverse bird species in the area. Later, proceed to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Morning Chimpanzee Trekking
Kibale National Park - On the fourth day, rise early for breakfast and head to Kibale National Park, home to various primates, including L’Hoest monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, and red-tailed monkeys. The main focus is on chimpanzees. Begin the chimpanzee trekking adventure, encountering some of the mentioned primates while exploring the forest and appreciating its flora and fauna. Upon finding the chimpanzees, spend up to 1 hour observing and photographing them. After trekking, return to the accommodation for lunch. Then, depart Kibale Forest National Park for Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the late afternoon or evening, and check in at the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5 Game Drive and Boat Cruise.
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Wake up early for breakfast and embark on another wilderness adventure, driving to the Kasenyi plains in the savanna to search for Uganda kobs, warthogs, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, and lions. Visit craft shops to explore African crafts and consider purchasing souvenirs. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel is home to wildlife such as hippos, elephants cooling off in the water, buffaloes, crocodiles, and numerous bird species along the shores.
Day 6: Forest Walks and Chimpanzee Tracking.
Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Begin the day with breakfast and set off for Bwindi Forest National Park, located south of Queen Elizabeth Park. Travel via Ishasha, with the possibility of spotting tree-climbing lions. Continue to Bwindi, home to the gentle giants, the gorillas, and rich in flora and fauna, including 400 plant species and 120 mammal species. As the journey progresses, observe the tea and banana plantations covering the area. Upon arrival, check in at the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Gorilla Trekking and Community Walk
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla tracking procedures, including the dos and don’ts. Be assigned a game ranger and a gorilla family to track. Enter the jungle in search of gorillas, which may take between 50 minutes to 7 hours. Along the way, encounter other wildlife. The hike can be challenging, but the experience is rewarding. Upon finding the gorillas, spend up to 1 hour interacting and taking photos. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. After lunch, embark on a guided community walk to visit the local community around the national park and learn about their way of life.
Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
Lake Mburo National Park - After breakfast, embark on a safari to Lake Mburo National Park, traveling through the hills of Kabale and the lush countryside. Appreciate the landscape and environment during the approximately 6-hour journey to Lake Mburo National Park. The park is home to numerous herds of zebras, visible from almost every corner, as well as antelopes, waterbucks, buffaloes, giraffes, elands, baboons, warthogs, and various bird species. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Game Drive and Transfer to Kampala.
Kampala - On the final day of the safari, rise early for breakfast and embark on a morning game drive in the park, observing zebras, buffaloes, elands, waterbucks, antelopes, hippos, giraffes, warthogs, and various bird species. Return to the lodge, check out, and transfer to Kampala, with a stop at the equator for lunch. Continue to Kampala and then to Entebbe for the flight back home.
