I can’t wait to do this again! - The tour was absolutely amazing! My driver(s) was informative, accommodating and kind. I wouldn’t miss this opportunity because you get to see a large part Bali and it’s a 35 minute drive from Ubud (if you take in consideration that this tour ends at noon, you have plenty of time to also explore Ubud attractions. I suggest coordinating with your drive).

No sunrise. - It was very good. Even those of us who don’t understand the language did our best! We didn’t get to see the sunrise because of the poor weather, but where we could take pictures, they took them in the rain♪ Thanks♪

Incredible hike, kind attentive driver and knowledgeable guide. 10/10 recommend! - We had an amazing hike. It is about an hour and a half to the summit and sunrise spot. Our driver, Kedak, was so kind and accepted the job even though we added the need for pick up at 1am before the hike! Everyone was from the Mt Batur area and so knowledgeable about it all. Our guide was young and fit and set a great pace for the four of us with regular breaks. Honestly, I thought it might not have been worth it after seeing some YouTube videos but the views were incredible, the hike moderately intense and not as busy as I expected. The gravel is a little slippery and the hike is quite steep so don’t underestimate. Also bring something warm for the sunrise if you don’t want to rent a jacket. Definitely the top highlight of my Bali experience so far!

Comfortably moving and delivering life shot - The chief is friendly and good at driving, and he loves Korea. Thanks to him, I'll be happy on the go. Under the sky of stars, you take pictures of your life. You have to bring a swimsuit when you go to hot springs. Give the towel.

Horrible experience, regretted it 100% - We fully regretted going on this trip and are wondering why so many are recommending it. The idea sounds great: drive up to a high vantage point in a 4wd vehicle and watch the sun rise. But the experience was very underwhelming and was a waste of a full day actually, as you need to get up at 2 or 2:30 am if you are starting from Ubud, leave ubud at 3am, get to the base of the mountain at around 4, then wait 40 minutes to go up(?) Then you pile into one of the old and run down sazuki samuris, all without mufflers etc all open so the whole way is in traffic and breathing in the fumes of your and other struggling trucks. The 4x4 part is rather exciting i admit. But it only lasts a very short time and you are there. The drive is 15 minutes, ok maybe 18 minutes up the mountain, about 20% of the way up the mountain, which is not very high actually. We were surprised we were there already. Then you and your truck are packed in as tightly as possible to watch the sunrise. You wait about an hour or 90 minutes for the sun to come up. It is kind of beautiful, but you are looking at the sunset over the lake, not the ocean. And there is nothing zen about the experience- as every jeep is playing it's own music, ranging from mello Balinese Gamelan to ACDC, and all at the same time. So it is ok to see but nowhere worth the hassle and lung damage breathing in all the fumes of the ancient, run down fleet of sazuki samuris. Then we went down in a large traffic jam as there is one way in and one way out, on to the next tourist trap- the lava fields. Nice to see the lava field but we do not like massive tourist groups this was the same, many trucks all going in and out through the same entrance road. Then we went to the hot springs. Well, this part you should absolutely avoid. So all the trucks then made their way in a long line to the hot springs. There or 8 other hot spring establishments with pools, restaurants, etc next to the lake. All seemingly offering the same hot spring experience- in a variety of pools of hot spring water, with whatever else you need, food etc. However, we are not sure why, but all the trucks we were packed into the experiences with, all went to the same hot spring. All the package deals are sent to the same place, so like all of the other stages of this package tour, we were packed in with all the other riders in the other vehicles we'd just seen in the other stages of this package tour. This part felt kind of mafia as there were many other hot spring establishments and we could have and would have walked over to a less crowded one, but it's like the mayor of the area has a brother who owns this one, and so every tourist on these 4X4 packages are forced into the same place. We'd happily have gone to another one as the other ones we saw were all almost empty. But we couldn't. We left there as soon as we could. This trip is the definition of why we hate package tourist "adventures." They you make your way home, but now there is traffic in Ubud (unlike when you left at 3am, and it takes you 2 hours to get back to your hotel. We got back at 1 in the afternoon and we went to bed, exhausted and telling ourselves never again go on one of these seemingly special but painful experiences.
