We loved this experienced and felt so welcomed! - This was an amazing experience for us. Putu and her husband, Pasta, were very accommodating with our pickup and drop-off. Upon arrival, Putu showed us around her home and explained the cultural significance of each section, including the temple and the meaning behind every statue. She then showed us her garden, where she grows a variety of herbs, spices, fruits, and vegetables. Notably, all the ingredients we used for our cooking class came directly from her garden. When we were ready to cook, we were greeted by her cousin, Made, who was there to help us monitor the cooking while Putu taught. We made five dishes in total: Nasi Sela (rice and sweet potato), Tempe Manis (sweet tempe), Perkedel Jagung (corn fritters), Satay Ayam (chicken satay with peanut sauce), and Urab (Balinese salad). We had a lot of fun during the process and learned so much about Balinese cuisine. At the end, we were proud to eat our creations, and they were all delicious. We even had some food left over, and Putu kindly provided takeout boxes for us to bring home. Overall, we really enjoyed this experience and loved the food. Putu, Made, and Pasta were all incredibly welcoming and exemplified great Balinese hospitality. We highly recommend this to anyone; it was one of our favorite experiences in Bali.

Incredible! - Putu and her family were very welcoming. She picked me up and she showed me around their place and explained to me the Balinese traditions which was amazing. She then showed me her wonderful gardens, full of plants, veggies and fruits tree and even grabbed me some fruits from the tree to eat. The Mangosteen were delicious. She offered me a fresh coconut to drink and some homemade biscuits. I felt like a queen there and Putu was very lovely and kind and answered all my questions with open arms. We then cook the delicious Balinese meal, all with fresh ingredients and she explained thoroughly every single step and made me do everything as she does with traditional cooking tools, homemade coconut oil from her trees and all the ingredients were freshly picked and delicious. I then got to eat my delicious meal and I was very impressed by how good it tasted! She even gave me a take away boxe for my leftovers. It was a great experience! The highlight of my travels for sure. I highly recommend going to Putus if you want a great experience in learning how to cook Balinese in a real traditional way. It was awesome.

Must-do private cooking class - 5 Balinese dishes - This private cooking class was perfect and smooth! First of all we were greeted at the pick up and presented to the traditional family house. After visiting the garden where all the produce comes from Mrs Putu harvested fresh mangosteen for us to try! She revealed us the secrets of Balinese cooking - all vegan as we requested. And under her professional guidance and help we prepared 5 - let me say delicious - dishes ! We also increased the spice level up to acceptable standards for us and ate food that was more delicious than what we had eaten in restaurants! We will remember not to leave out the kaffir lime leave - the star of the show ! Now we can retry these recipes back home and enjoy the delicious tempeh and tofu based dishes! It was a wonderful experience that we enjoyed a lot and we would like to send you again a big Terima kasih for opening your home and teaching us the secrets or the delicious Balinese cuisine! If you would still be doubting - do not hesitate - just quickiy book! Kim and Mitch from Belgium

Cooking with Putu - I can’t say enough about how much my husband and I enjoyed being at Putu’s home and cooking! She personally came with us to and from our transport from our Ubud hotel, and had much to share and educate us on. We asked many questions and had a great conversation. Being in her home, seeing her farm, and cooking with her instruction (with family there as helpers) was wonderful! The food we cooked was amazing and she was able to even get us mangosteen from her tree! We arrived to coconuts to drink and an inviting atmosphere with wonderful hands on instructions and education on the food and names of the dishes. She even had containers for our leftover food to bring with us! Highly recommend. Very clean and sanitary for those who may be concerned about Bali “belly.”

Cooking with Putu in Ubud - Thank you so much to Putu and her family!! Our cooking class experience was truly wonderful, we loved learning from Putu! We had fun, laughed, and learnt so much about Balinese food and culture - Putu and her family are so kind and welcoming. The food we cooked was delicious, and easy enough to know how to cook when we are home. Cooking with ingredients grown on her land was something special and added to the flavour. We are so grateful for Putu's husband driving us as well! We will most definitely be back 🙏🏻 This was the highlight of our trip, and we highly recommend this experience.

Fabulous evening! A unique taste of authentic Bali - A friend booked this tour and we were absolutely delighted by the experience. Putu welcomed us into her home after her adorable husband collected us from the hotel in Ubud. She gave us a tour of her home and explained the traditional daily routines of a Balinese home. We briefly explored her bountiful garden and were amazed at how much she was able to bring straight to table from her garden. The cooking experience was so much fun and absolutely delicious. We had been eating Balinese food for the previous week and her recipes surpassed all our previous experiences of traditional dishes. We peeled and ground and fried and laughed and had an unforgettable experience.

Fantastic cooking workshop, great experience and highly recommended - We had a great experience 🥰 We were picked up at our hotel and first got a tour of the buildings, temples and beautiful garden full of everything they grow themselves for the kitchen. After drinking a coconut and peanut biscuit we were allowed to prepare a delicious rice table under our hostess her good guidance. We were taught all kinds of techniques. Cook on fire and stir-fry on gas. Using a mortar, crush peanuts for the satay sauce. And of course cut all kinds of vegetables and herbs. Prepare meat (satay) on cabbages. We had a very nice and cosy time and the food was fantastic!! Highly recommended to do during your holiday in Bali.
