We had a really good... - We had a really good trip with Max as a guide. The tour started at Black Virgin Peak, where we spent a few hours and then we were a short stop past the Cao Dai Temple. Unfortunately, we were unable to enter the temple as prayer was in progress, but we were able to observe the prayer from the door opening. After lunch we continued to Cu Chi tunnels where we got a really nice review of the whole story behind the conflict in Vietnam, including the Vietnam War and the role of Viet Cong. Max was very knowledgeable and good at sharing his knowledge. On the way, the guide took some really nice photos and videos of us, which he subsequently shared on WhatsApp.

Enjoyed this tour to the MAX!!! - My tour with Max was the highlight of my entire trip to Vietnam. Max provided an exceptional experience—knowledgeable, thoughtful, and genuinely passionate about sharing his country’s history and beauty. We visited the incredible Black Virgin Mountain, a serene and magical place with breathtaking scenery. Max knew all the perfect photo spots and helped me capture meaningful moments that I will treasure forever. The Black Virgin Mountain is an AMAZING “Disney- like perfection to detail” experience. Prior to the tour, I thought this was a scenic aerial tram ride and view from the top of a mountain. It is SO MUCH MORE! Don’t miss this place! It alone was worth it for this private tour! We then visited the Cao Dai Temple and observed their midday prayer ceremony. It was fascinating, colorful, and deeply spiritual—an unforgettable cultural experience. ( We even saw wild monkeys walking in the streets near the temple.) Finally, the Cu Chi Tunnels provided a staggering look into what life was like for the Viet Cong. Max explained the history with clarity and respect, making it easy to understand the bravery and hardship experienced underground as well as the impactful psychological war waged by the troops from the North. Every detail of the day was perfectly planned—great pacing, excellent timing to avoid crowds, and a delicious local Vietnamese lunch. Max also checked in often to ensure I was comfortable and enjoying the experience. (FYI - I am a man in my 70’s so bathroom stops were a concern on a long tour but Max made sure this was not a problem.) If you want a tour that combines beauty, culture, and powerful history—with a guide who truly cares—ask for Max. He made this day extraordinary, and I highly recommend Max!

Black Virgin Mountain is not for Asean tourists only !! - Very nice experience on the mountain and the tunnels were very impressive but need to accept the long travels due to massive traffic both ways. My tour guide Bin is a very nice and approachable guy and really knows what he’s talking about plus what I liked about him, he was not telling long stories while in the car and due to the comfortable back seat I had nice relaxing (and sleepy) time while going thru the traffic. As my title says “this tour is not for asean tourists only”, no it is not! I was surprised to see that I was the only foreign visitor on the mountain, I honestly enjoyed this more than the mountain! Interesting story as well behind this person, the ‘black virgin’. As well the water fountain shows in front of the happy Buddha were amazing to watch! Also I was served a fantastic lunch during this day, good choices but way too much, 2 or even 3 people could eat from that. For the temple, for me that was no more than some nice shots in between but wasn’t interested in going inside plus there were too many monkeys around the place and I really hate them. The tunnels and associated war crafts etc. were impressive but was more impressed by the mountain and hopefully this review will encourage more western people to visit this beautiful mountain (and its cable cars)!

A Perfect Adventure with Max - Highly Recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I cannot recommend the Black Virgin Peak, Cu Chi Tunnels & Cao Dai Temple Private Tour enough! From start to finish, this tour delivered an unforgettable experience, made even better by the guide, Max, whose hospitality and expertise shined through every moment of the day. Max arrived exactly on time to pick me up from my hotel, and to my pleasant surprise, I ended up having a private tour as I was the only participant that day. This unique setup made the journey feel like a day trip adventure with a knowledgeable local friend, rather than a formal tour. Max made everything so personal and seamless, ensuring the experience went beyond my expectations. First Stop: Black Virgin Mountain Our first stop was the majestic Black Virgin Mountain, but on the way, we took a detour to visit a shop showcasing incredible Vietnamese art. Watching the pieces being crafted was mesmerizing—they were intricate, beautiful, and truly special. For those interested, they also offer shipping if you’d like to purchase a piece to take home. The mountain itself was magical. The cable car ride to the summit revealed breathtaking views, including a sweeping panorama of Cambodia. At the top, I marveled at the statues of the Lady Buddha and Buddha, as well as the beautifully landscaped gardens that added to the serene atmosphere. I even explored a planetarium-style theater—another unexpected delight! Next Stop: Cao Đài Temple The architecture of the Cao Đài Temple was absolutely stunning. Vibrant, intricate, and bursting with color, it was worth the visit for that alone. But the story behind Cao Đài blew me away. Max walked me through the fascinating intersection of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Christianity within this unique religion—a beautiful message of universal harmony and tolerance that really left an impression on me. Lunch: A Local Feast Lunch was a wonderful surprise! Thanks to Max's foresight, my meal was ready the second we arrived at the restaurant—even as other tours waited. Dish after dish arrived, filling my plate with authentic Vietnamese delicacies, and I left completely stuffed and satisfied. Max orchestrated this perfectly, ensuring I could enjoy every bite without rushing or waiting. Final Stop: Cu Chi Tunnels Visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels was an eye-opening and immersive experience. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Max provided excellent background and historical context about the war and the incredible resilience of the Vietnamese people. Venturing into the tunnels (even at my 6’2” height) was challenging, but it gave me a sense of history that I’ll never forget. If you're claustrophobic, it might not be for you, but for anyone with an adventurous streak, this is an absolute must! Walking through the first-level tunnels and seeing the traps and underground rooms was fascinating and sobering all at once. Overall Experience The personalized nature of this tour, coupled with Max’s extensive knowledge, warm personality, and ability to anticipate his guest's needs, made it a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Whether you're a history buff, a foodie, or someone enchanted by culture and architecture, this tour has it all. If you're debating whether this tour is worth it—stop. It absolutely is. You’ll learn, eat, explore, and make memories that will stick with you for a lifetime. Max, you’re the best—thank you for making my day so special!
