We had beautiful weather on Bayou St John! Though it was chilly and a tad bit windy kayaking was easy for this 50+ first timer! My kids (ages 26-31) were avid kayakers so it wasn't a challenge for them at all. Sara was super helpful with directions, parking, set-up etc! Sonny was our tour guide and was soooo knowledgeable about my favorite part of New Orleans - Bayou St John/City Park/Faubourg St John areas. As a native New Orleanian, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Sonny's history lesson. Thanks for a great day! My other out of town adult children can't wait to visit and take the tour!
I enjoyed the tour, but I would have liked to have heard a little more history about New Orleans and the areas we were paddling by.
Sara was great. She was patient with the four kids we had on our adventure and also very knowledgeable about the history of the area. We will do this again!
This family run business was super easy to work with as we had to reschedule due to weather. There was good conversation and lots of interesting information about the area on the tour of Bayou St John. We are sending friends.
Sara and Sonny were able to accommodate my late request and were professional and friendly guides. I was interested to hear more history and NOLA facts but had a great time on the bayou!
I had a wonderful time! Great instructions were given for the kayaking. Sara's knowledge of the history of Bayou St. John was informative and entertaining. Lots of wildlife was seen and admired. We kayaked at a comfortable pace while enjoying the surroundings. Afterwards, I was pointed in the right direction for a beignet place close by!
The experience was great, and we had a great time! The only reason I didn't give five stars is I really would like to have heard more about the history of the neighborhood throughout the tour. I felt like it was great at the beginning when we got the introduction, but kind of petered out. Otherwise, great job, and like I said, we had a lot of fun.
I was hoping for a bit more information about the building and animals that we saw. But it was very enjoyable to learn about what has changed in the city over the years.
Wish there was more history provided
Our kayak tour was a really relaxing way to spend the afternoon (I was worried that it was going to be a lot more strenuous). The guide had great local knowledge and was very easy to talk to. My fiance enjoyed it so much that he bought a kayak as soon as we got back to Australia!
Nice tour and exactly what I wanted - a good, light physical activity and a different way to experience and learn about New Orleans.
Overall great time! Loved that you guys introduced us all and it really was a group event
Tour was informative and fun. We even got to check out a music festival on the canal. Saw turtles, cool birds and even flying fish.
Enjoyed the trip. Thank you for your time and your comments, and maybe I would have liked to have seen more homes. What was the other way upstream , or was it down!
