Tour of Sousse Medina - Today my tour guide Mo, gave me a great insight into Tunisian culture and was very friendly and professional in his conduct. The Medina and art gallery were absolutely fascinating. A must see! Although some sights were closed due to it being a Friday, we still were able to make good use of the time and even managed to stop for some Arabic coffee, which I must say was delicious.

Friendly tour guide! - The tour guy was a good communicator, flexible, and very friendly. Helpful with any questions. Perhaps more expensive, but that has nothing to do with our tour guide, who was perfect.

Walking tour - This is a slightly unusual walking tour because it covers two areas which are quite far apart. My guide, Shames, negotiated good prices for the taxis and also provided a lot of local information. I enjoyed the tour.

Brilliant tour of Monastir with Mohamed - We had an amazing time with Mohamed walking around Monastir, we visited the Ribat, the Mansoleum, the Marina and much more. He took us to a quiet coffee shop also. He was so knowledgeable and was willing to get to know us and share stories about himself. He took great photos of us and the attractions. We would definitely recommend this service to anyone.

Magic Sousse - I had a deeply rewarding experience with Mohamed during this visit to Sousse. From the first moment, it creates a warm atmosphere where you feel welcomed, listened to and guided with kindness. What I liked most was its ability to mix history, culture and local life. Every alleyway, monument and stop took on meaning with his knowledge and exciting anecdotes. He led us to both the emblematic places and the more secret places, untouched by mass tourism. The visit is long but fluid, with a pleasant pace, and always adapted to our needs. Mohamed also advised us of honest local shops, traditional cafes and typical restaurants — a real plus to experience Tunisia authentically. A deeply human, enthusiastic and generous guide. I recommend without hesitation to anyone looking for an authentic, secure and heartfelt discovery. Thank you again, Mohamed, for this day that will remain in my memory.

Overpriced and Misrepresented Tour Experience - I signed up for this tour based on how it was marketed and described; however, the actual experience fell significantly short of those expectations. In reality, this was simply a car hire with a driver, with no additional guidance, historical context, or value-added services. The tour was promoted as a “fun tour” with elements of history and local recommendations. None of these were provided. While the driver was polite and courteous, the service delivered was not aligned with what was advertised, especially considering the amount paid (USD 141.5). The following points highlight the key issues: 1. Lack of basic assistance from a local driver At one point, I asked the Tunisian native driver to help inquire about the price of street snacks, as I am a foreign visitor and have previously experienced being overcharged in Tunisia. The driver merely asked the price and made no effort to help ensure it was reasonable. The attitude I perceived was that, as a tourist, I was expected to pay higher prices. Alternatively, it felt as though the driver was disengaged—possibly fatigued with the job or dissatisfied with his employer—which directly affected the level of service provided. What was particularly ironic is that a few hours later, the driver stopped briefly to buy vegetables for himself and actively negotiated the price with the vendor. This raised the question of what added value a local driver provides if they are unwilling to offer even basic assistance to a paying guest. 2. Uncomfortable and inappropriate experience at Sidi Abid el Ghariani Mausoleum At the Sidi Abid el Ghariani Mausoleum, the driver introduced me to a mosque caretaker and then returned to the car. The caretaker began guiding me around and providing historical information, eventually taking me to an area where I was expected to donate money at two graves. I was never informed in advance that donations were expected, nor was my consent sought for a guided visit. As I primarily use cards while traveling and had limited cash, I could only offer the coins I had. One of the caretaker’s associates became visibly upset about the small amount and behaved in a hostile manner. This situation was extremely uncomfortable and could have been easily avoided if the driver had warned me about expected donations, confirmed whether I wanted a guide, or asked for my consent beforehand. Instead, I was placed in an embarrassing and distressing situation. 3. No food or lunch recommendations No lunch or dining recommendations were provided at any point. I was simply told that if I wanted to stop for coffee or a restroom break, I should inform the driver. This falls far short of what one would expect from a tour marketed as a guided or “VIP” experience. Overall, it is disappointing that this was marketed as a “Fun VIP tour” when it provided no historical insight, no guidance, no local recommendations, and no meaningful support. I felt embarrassed during the mausoleum visit due to the donation issue and received no added value beyond transportation. While the driver was polite and drove safely, this experience would have been cheaper and likely better had I simply hired a local taxi. Paying USD 141.50 for this service was not justified given what was delivered. UPDATE: The company reached out to me to offer me a 30% goodwill refund. I appreciate them resolving this matter.

Disappointed ! Need a licensed tour guide and not a tour escort - I completely agreed with the comments from the reviewer 'Cupboard' in Cambridge. If you are just looking for a tour escort taking you to different places (and additionally you have to pay for the taxi fares), this could be ok for you. If you want a tour guide walking and talking you through the historical background of the places, you need a professional licensed tour guide. If not, they will just take you to buy the entrance ticket and telling you that they will wait for you outside. In the capital city 'Tunis', it seems that it is much easier to find a licensed tour guide. I had my best experience in the two tours in Tunis including the archaeological site of Carthage and Tunis of Medina. Both tour guides were professional, knowledgeable and interesting. In contrast, the tour escorts I met in Tunisia can only give you the unproved answers as they are not sure about it themselves. This tour was advertised a lot much cheaper. However, when you made the final payment, the actual prices were much higher. I don't mind that a tour escort would smoke outside the building. However, whenever they talk to you, they have a full of mouth of smoke smell. This makes you sick.
