To do! - We loved this excursion!
We discovered the Berber villages and the oasis.
We were surprised at the proximity between the oasis and the shops but it remains very pretty.
The desert is to be made!
This allowed us to discover Tunisia which is a beautiful country.

Best in Tunisia - Simply the best tour you can book in Tunisia. I traveled to different parts of Tunisia and none were as enjoyable as this 2 day trip in the South. I can honestly say there was nothing I didn't enjoy. Even the campsite was great with comfortable beds and clean showers and toilets.

2 days in the Sahara - Very good guide providing clear and precise instructions. Comfortable campsite. Beautiful site in the fairy dunes of the Sahara. The quad bike ride in the dunes is well worth the extra. Proper food. My 9-year-old daughter thought it was "more than great." In short, unquestionably our best memory of Tunisia.

Sublime Sahara - The highlight of this visit is the Great Sahara and at night in the Zmela camp, right on the edge of the Sahara for a sunset over the dunes.
The dromedary walk in Ksar Ghuilaine at 10€ per person and per dromedary (one dromedary per person) may seem a little expensive but the moment is magical: we sink a little into the dunes for a magical 15-minute pose.
The quad bike ride to the Roman fort is very nice and pleasant. The pace is not "sporty" but riding in the sand and this decor is worth the price.
Tataouine is not of great interest and the prison is not visible.
Chenini is worth a visit but the (guided) tour is quite quick because access to the top of the old village is not allowed for security reasons (risk of falling stone). It is possible to defy the forbidden though not recommended.
Ksar Ghuilaine's interest is his position at the gates of the Great Sahara. On-site camps are not recommended (Zmela camp 20km away is great) and the waterhole small and artificial. But the water is very hot.
The visit of the troglodyte house on the roadside in Matmata is worth the time to lay but be careful not to come across a bus of invading Russian tourists!
Star Wars fans will be disappointed by the visit to the Sidi Driss Hotel which keeps very little record of the filming. But the site remains very nice.
This outing is the most beautiful memory of our week in Southern Tunisia.

Both Dalel (our guide)... - Both Dalel (our guide) and Karim (our driver) were really nice, friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the trip. We would especially recommend this trip for people who have just arrived in Tunisia/Never been to north Africa before, as you can experience the aspects of the culture such as the markets and the berber cultures. The desert was definitely the highlight of the trip, with the quad bikes and camel riding and of course the meals are delicious. Its great way to travel around tunisia safely and with locals.
The description could be more detailed. It's more one day and half. First day was great, but second day, after the dromedary ride in the Ksar Ghilane, where we slept, we left pretty soon to visit the star wars place (which is not as we expected, just a touristy cafe) where we took lunch at 11am and then we came back to djerba.
I would also be aware that extra bottles of water and other non alcoholic drinks apart are not included in the prices of lunch. Not a big deal, but I would expect water to be included or at least for it to be advertised in the description.

Tataouine, it's a long way - many kilometers (more than 360 km AR) to see Tataouine and Chenneni , by a road crowded with waste. The guide gives us information about Tunisia, a not great couscous meal, we were happy to go back to the hotel.

English tour is no guarantee of English speaker guide - I booked a trip in English, the tour guide spoke only French.
After I asked for a partial refund I got offered a voucher for a trip to flamingo island, unfortunately I wasn't in Tunisia anymore.
Assume the trip was interesting for a French speaker, but rating 1/5 for lack of professionalism and care.

Not worth it at all - This tour is a scam. We paid 280 euros and it was not worth more than 100. We were brought to places where people just begged for money. The “guide” left us with a first guide to visit Chenini, and we had to pay him for a 10 minutes walk after visiting his house which had nothing special. The next day same thing happened were a whole family is just expecting you to give money for the sake of it.
Our “guide” was Mohcen and was not knowledgeable at all and we felt like he was repeating himself for the whole trip.
For someone who has had a “20 year experience” the least you can do when you have never travelled anywhere but your country would be to be more open and curious with the people you meet. Especially when talking to someone coming from a neighbour country, be respectful. And he also made it on purpose to take his time to pretend things were longer to reach.
Also we asked to be brought to Gabès instead of Djerba as we had to get back to Tunis and “the guide” did not want to and said we should get back to Djerba to get a bus to Tunis from there. The truth is he is living there and did not want to make the trip to Gabès (30km away from Matmata when Djerba is 130km away).
It was written alcohol won’t be free but we even had to pay to have water. The food was below average and the way waiters treated us was outrageous. We were told many times people around are living thanks to tourism but no efforts are made at all to make this experience worth anything.
The star wars experience is a big joke. You got one room with photos taken from internet and stapled to the wall and that is it …
Every time a new group is coming in, they play the star wars theme song.
There is no memorabilia from the movies, nor a video nor any explanation. And they also got the date wrong … you had one job.
There is no need to have a SUV for that trip, we were told the trip could only be done with one, but buses and regular car were everywhere.
Just avoid that scam, it’s not worth a single dinar.
