Something Special! - Slight logistical issues with transport, but everything still worked out on schedule. Tulum ruins were absolutely beautiful, but the real treat was the cenote. I went to another cenote before, it was crowded and commercialized. This was the complete opposite! Also it has a network of underground caves in the cenote that they take you through with a flashlight. Breathtaking. This was really something very special! Staff was very nice and took good care of us. A+ despite the transportation hiccups. HIGHLY recommend!!!

Great value for fulfilling day! - Our group of 10 was picked up from the nearest hotel in Playa del Carmen. We had a 45 minute drive to Tulum Ruins, where we were met with a tour guide. We departed after 2.5 hours to have a light, healthy lunch. After that, we got a swimming tour through a cenote and returned home. From pick up to drop off, was a 7 hour experience. I would totally recommend compared to other much higher priced experiences. The only additional charge was $690pp ($39 USD) for admission to ruins, which is specified in the listing. Thanks JJ!

Great tour, budget friendly. - This tour was excellent. There was good communication on the pick-up and drop off times and locations and reminders about the fees associated with it for the archeological site and such. This was all paid in cash to the tour operator on the drive and they handled everything. Our guide, Nacho was extremely knowledgeable with tons of experience. He highlighted many details I didn’t hear or see from the other guides in the park. The timing was perfect for the guided tour and time to finish the ruins on your own for the missing pics or just to look longer at some things. It was a short ride to the cenote, and what a beautiful adventure this was. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but a guided tour underground through the caves was absolutely amazing. And probably just the right length of time (approx 30 minutes). Another quick ride over to the Mayan lunch, which did not appear as much, but was very delicious and just a perfect portion size. Then a nice ride back to our resort. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Definitely wear good walking shoes to the ruins, and water shoes or sandals to the cenote. You don’t really need them in the water, but have something for the walk down to the cenote. Take a water bottle as they don’t allow plastic (single-use) bottles into the park.

Disorganization in general - Little explained the activity itself. Tulum's guide's pretty tough. We were left waiting 1h for the boozy soup for having made the visit very quickly.

Overpaid for entry fee and rushed experience - Our trip started good with our pickup on time and uneventful. I knew I had to pay the conservation tax but did not know I had to pay with exact amount since the driver collecting the amount did not have change nor could I pay with a credit card. Therefore I over paid with $16 due back which I never got back (even though the driver said I would get my change). This along with a tour guide (nacho) keeping us at the front for almost an hour due to late arrivals and then rushing us at the site made for a poor experience.

Was waiting for it to be over - No shame to the employees on this trip, but it was overall so disorganized, and not at all what we expected. We were confused all day about the plan and no one gave us clarity. Answers from guides were vague. That being said, the cenote was very cool and others on our journey really enjoyed it. What to expect: Pickup 12pm You arrive at meeting point at 1pm to go to Mayan ruins. You wait a long time to switch cars and drivers, then get to ruins around 2pm. Tour was great but you will be in direct sun and by the time he was done we only had 10 mins of free time to explore ruins. Then we drive to cenote and you go 20 mins down extremely rocky and slow road to lunch. Lunch was amazing!! Our cenote guide was a bit rude and unprofessional when I asked a question about timing. (Tour should’ve ended by 6 but we were back to hotel at 7). Cenote was not as described or pictured. It was a dark cave exploration filled with bats. However, our group loved it! But if you’re looking for a sun filled cenote, this is not it. Then we all headed back together. Overall, the actual mayan ruins and cenote part was great but we spent so much time in the car and waiting around and switched drivers/guides constantly.

Would not recommend - The Mayan ruins was great and the guide was amazing! however the cenote was not a true cenote is was more of a cave with no lights and bats, super disappointing. The van had 6 seats but we had 8 people. Overall feels ill organized

Skip this disorganized mess and enjoy your time by the pool instead. - First of all, the actual activities (the ruins, the food and the cenote) were great. The food delicious, and the tour guides great, particularly Sara at the cenote, who was an absolute joy to be around and super knowledgeable. But the entire experience was so brutal and disorganized. Had I known what I know now, I would not have booked. We booked a half day tour and we were gone for almost 10 hours. We were picked up at 7am in a rickety old van that smelled like gas, so we basically were inhaling gas fumes for 3 hours. Because yes, it took 3 hours to get to Tulum. We picked up other groups at other resorts, which is to be expected, however we picked up a family of 8 when there were only 7 spots available left in the van. They ended up kicking out a lady, and then we made our way. We stopped halfway again, where we had to pay the environmental tax of 40usd per person which is wild. Why not just include in the price of the tour? Finally, we made it to Tulum 3 hours later and there the waiting and chaoticness started again as we waiting for different groups to arrive in their own vans. We waited around for another 30 minutes before making our way in. Our English tour guide was super nice, but he spent 30 minutes (of the 1 hour we had) giving us some background info on Mayans before we even entered the ruins area. My husband and I ended up breaking off and doing our own tour. Then, we headed to the food place which was good, and the cenote which was awesome. However, all in all we were in and out of the van like 10x, we waited around constantly with no info on what we were waiting for. We were getting shuffled in different vans. It was just overly disorganized and extremely long. I suggest you skip this one and just pick something that goes straight to a cenote. Preferably with Sara cuz she was awesome.

Avoid this tour and tour company - We spent more timing waiting for transport or for other members of the tour than experiencing the sites we were meant to see. We abandoned the tour after waiting an hour for the arranged transport and spent an extra 400 pesos mxn for returning to our hotel. Completely unsatisfying and unacceptable. Requesting refund.
