Amazing tour to see as much as possible in a day - Really amazing tour, especially if you have limited time and want to see as much as possible in a day. Juan (139) was a fantastic guide, so knowledgeable and passionate. Our driver Eric was also awesome. It is a long day, but it's very worth it. We arrived at Coba and the cenote early and basically had the places to ourselves to start which was wonderful. Highly recommend!

Perfect combination of Mayan vestiges and breathtaking scenery, with a ton of learning added. - A diversified, complete and unmissable day trip! We loved Coba, its authentic character and the fact that it is less touristy and busy. Climbing to the top of the pyramid is a unique experience and worth the next few days of legache lol! Thereafter, the bathing in the cenote is breathtaking. Again we got there before the crowds, which makes the experience even more unique (we bought a bottle of tequila as a gift and then saw the reviews that mention it's a scam... As it was a gift we can not say whether it was the case or not... but to be careful). Afterwards, what about Chichen Itza and its majestic beauty. What made the experience really exceptional was all the information given by our guide Francesco (Frank) throughout the day. This made all the difference!Special mention also to our driver Salvadore. Fantastic day out! - This trip was amazing, from going to Coba early morning before the crowds to Chichikan for the cenote and lunch. It was then on to Chichén Itzá where Juan 139 was fantastic! He was very friendly, funny and informative and even though I have visited before , he told me things I didn’t know. Last stop in Valladolid a lovely little market town. Thank you Santos and Juan for making my birthday very special!

Great Experience with Arturo and Marcela - Everything about this tour was fantastic. Our tour guides were amazing, we had Arturo and Marcela. They spoke in both Spanish and English the whole time and were super informed and told us a lot about the Mayan culture. Everything was great, Chichen Itza was amazing to see, as well as the Ball Game court and other pyramids. The other temples were in Coba and we even got to climb the pyramid for an excellent view. The tequila tastings were fantastic and we couldn’t have asked for better sopes in the lunch buffet. Definitely recommend Arturo and Marcela but I don’t know how to request specific guides. ¡Gracias!

Cenote is the biggest tourist trap. Very long day with some highlights, but lots of extra costs - This excursion is a very long day, so it’s important to go in with clear expectations. We met at 7:00 AM in Tulum and didn’t return until around 8:00 PM, making it a 13+ hour day. If you’re not staying in the area for very long or were hoping to have part of the day free afterward, keep this in mind. The day begins at Cobá, which is an expansive archaeological site that almost feels like a park, with plenty to see. Bikes are offered, but we didn’t feel they were necessary. We also didn’t have cash on hand, so even if we’d wanted to rent them, it wouldn’t have been possible. The next stop was Iglesia de San Servacio, which was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. It was nice to see something different from the ruins, and this ended up being a quick but enjoyable stop. After that, we visited Cenote Chichikan, which also serves as the lunch stop. The property itself is nice, but I’ve personally been to cenotes that were larger, prettier, and more impressive. Lunch costs $23 per person and, while it is all-you-can-eat, the food was underwhelming — I’ve had better Mexican food in the U.S. It’s also important to note that drinks are not included in the $23 lunch price, which was not clearly mentioned by the server and only came up after I specifically asked. The drinks themselves were good — I had the mango, and my boyfriend had the passion fruit — but this was yet another unexpected add-on. There is also a tequila tasting and gift shop here, with a heavy sales pitch claiming that the tequila and items are only sold at this location. That didn’t seem accurate — I saw many of the same products throughout Tulum for significantly cheaper. This stop, overall, felt like a tourist trap, and I would strongly recommend skipping purchases at the gift shop. The final stop is Chichén Itzá, which was easily the highlight of the entire day. Seeing the main pyramid in person was incredible and truly worthy of its status as a Wonder of the World. It’s an amazing experience to see something so ancient and well-preserved. That said, expect many vendors and tourist traps here as well. I do want to point out that our tour guide, Juam (with an “M”), was excellent, and the driver also did an amazing job. Juam was knowledgeable, professional, and engaging, and he did a great job keeping the group organized, informed, and on schedule during such a long day. He and the driver honestly made the experience far more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been — especially given the length of the tour and the amount of coordination involved. Overall, I felt nickel-and-dimed throughout the experience. The base ticket essentially covers transportation and entrance to the sites only. If you don’t pay for the add-ons, you don’t get lunch during a very long day, can’t swim in the cenote, and may feel rushed at certain locations like Cobá. Additional costs added up quickly: $150 for base tickets, $92 in tourist taxes, $16 for mandatory life jackets, $42 for lunch, and $100 in taxis to reach the meeting point. At the end of the day, tips are also requested. By the time everything was added up, it felt frustrating to realize we could have booked a private tour with hotel pickup and drop-off for a comparable price, without constantly being asked to pay more along the way. While there were definite highlights — especially Chichén Itzá — I would encourage travelers to carefully weigh the value and consider alternative tour options.
