Solo visit to Irish National Stud - Incredible experience from booking to arriving. Very accessible and easy to find with friendly staff as soon as you walk into the visitors centre. I was booked into both the free walking tour and experience centre. Daniel was my tour guide who was both friendly and extremely knowledgeable of both the centre and every horse we came to. Couldn't have gave a better tour and guidance of how to use time on site after guided tour. I started with the Japanese gardens for a walk myself and I hadn't already ate would have had my breakfast in their beautiful restaurant.

Great day out but restaurant closed too early. - We had a wonderful experience last week with my three children. The tour guide was brilliant, so knowledgeable and helpful. Catriona in the gift shop was exceptional and could not do enough for us. The racing experience was exceptional and even my 17 year old son commented on how helpful and patient the chap running that section was. The one problem was that the restaurant was closed to orders at 3.55 pm. Had I known that, I would have gone to the restaurant first. Very disappointed with the restaurant. Overall, a great experience though. We won't let the restaurant closing define our special day. Thank you all.

Amazing experience - Wonderful day out, Japanese gardens are a must, just so tranquil and relaxing. The tour of the stud farm with new foals was amazing. Our tour guide keran was excellent, very knowledgeable and passionate about his job and all the horses. Thank you for an amazing day

What a joyful day - This was a truly delightful experience. We took the hour long guided tour which was both interesting and informative. It was a joy to see a newborn foal and a few others born in previous weeks along with some of the stars of the stud. The Japanese Gardens are beautiful - even in winter - and must be stunning from spring onwards. We had a light lunch in the cafe which was excellent. The shop is lovely too. All in all, we had a great visit and would highly recommend it for anyone in the area who has a love of horses. Every staff member we met was friendly, helpful and welcoming.

A Great Experience for 5 aul fellas from Newry. - 5 aul fellas had a wonderful afternoon on Tuesday 14th October 2025, enjoying the Autumnal colours in the Japanese Garden, the Tour and The Experience. All the Staff were friendly and helpful, from Reception to Departure. We started with a fine Soup/Wheaten Lunch followed with an exploration of the Garden. We were very impressed with our Tour Guide, Jenny. She gave so much interesting information in an easy to understand format and with a witty humour that we had very few questions needing answers. We were also impressed with the patience of the "Experience" Staff who assisted us in getting the most from it.

Great experience at the Irish National Stud. Amazing Japanese gardens to walk through. - Had a wonderful time at the Irish National Stud and gardens. The Japanese gardens were incredible and then the walking tour through the stud, seeing the Stallion’s and hearing the breeding and racing stories was great. One of the highlights was the interactive experience of buying, naming, training and riding your own horse at the end. Hilarious and a lot of fun.

Day out - What a great place - very interesting tour. So nice to see the legends especially Beef or Salmon at the grand age of 29. Happy horses 🐎. Well worth a visit - advise going Feb onwards if you wish to see the mares & foals. Staff very informative.

Too expensive, unless you have huge interest in horses/stud - We bought the ticket online, save €3 per person. While we were only interested in Japanese Garden, there was no choice but to buy expensive tickets for the stud. Overall, still it was very expensive for the experience. I dont think I will visit again due to this.
