- Not recommended for beginner bike riders.
- Due to the model of e-bikes we utilize, all riders must be 110-260 lbs. and 5’1” to 6’ 5” tall. Those who do not fit these criteria will not safely fit on our e-bikes.
- This is NOT for beginner bike riders, or people that haven’t been on a pedal bike in, say, the last 10 years (stationary bikes don’t count).
- Due to biking being a physical activity (yes, even e-biking!) all riders must be in physical shape to operate an electric bike
- Riders must be comfortable riding in near darkness with lights during the last :15-20 minutes

Wonderful Experience! - I had high hopes and this guided e-bike exceeded my expectations. It was beautiful and a lot of fun. Our guide Carol was incredible. Highly recommended.

Our sunset bike tour was... - Our sunset bike tour was spectacular! John, our tour guide, shared his knowledge of the desert on stops along the way. It was a great learning experience and beautiful ride!

More than just riding a bike… - Jeff was a fabulous guide in that he provided detailed insight into the desert fauna and landscape, in addition to leading us safely on our e-bikes through the park!

A cool, different way to see the park - This was a fun, informative tour of the park on e-bikes. The tour was on the 8 mile loop. With the e-bikes it was easy to get up and down the hills and spend time viewing instead of working out.
All care was given before the tour started with visibility harnesses, helmets and plenty of time to learn how to use the bikes.
The tour guide James was a wealth of knowledge on the park, the wildlife and the surrounding area. Every stop he had plenty to share.

Beautiful sunset; did not always safe - The sunset was a beautiful orange. We took many photographs. We rode the last 15 minutes in the dark, the last 5-7 of it on a road with two-way traffic. While we had somewhat effective headlights on the bikes and wore reflectors around our torsos, i did not feel safe during this part of the trip, particularly when our leader rode way ahead of us. The safety issue could easily be eliminated by starting an ending this trip earlier.

No Guide for Sunset Tour - The bike ride started out pretty good. We reviewed the bikes and test rode them. We rode over to the park and started the guided e-bike tour of the park. The guide provided alot of information on the desert, the park, and some of the local history. My frustration was that he rode his bike very fast and really didn't keep our group together. He knows the road, curves, hills, etc. in the park very well. I did not and was trying to get familiar with a new e-bike and was always trying to catch up with him and the other couple. It was a bit disconcerting but it was still light. However, when the sun went down, we just had our bike lights and the last third of the ride, in the dark, was not comfortable at all as my husband and I were always by ourselves, trying to follow the road in the dark with a very little bike light. Our guide was way in front of us. He did not really even try to keep our group together. It was very difficult to see the road and its path in the dark and going down some steep hills and curves. I did not enjoy the last third of the ride. In fact, if I had it to do over, I would take the tour during the day when I could see all of the landscape and the road. For the sunsets, I would drive through the park as there is a lot of parking where you can stop and just wait and watch as the sun sets and the beautiful colors appear. We did not really get to stop and watch the sun set on this guided bike tour. We were always trying to keep to our 2 hour timeline. I am sorry to say I thought this would be a great ride; it was not for me, not in the dark with no guide to help us navigate the road for us.

Nature is lovely; the guide was not. - Nature is always lovely. The man who provided the equipment was also helpful. The guide, Jeff, fell short of normal expectations. In general he was critical of the park employees. He felt the employees should stay at the gate beyond the usual work day. Ok. Then he pointed out the last working dude ranch in the area. He thought I’d was funny that people from Germany underestimate the dangers of the desert. He causally commented how some die each summer. Ok. Then he commented that Arizona didn’t become a state until the 1920s. He blamed the Apache people for this. He said they add no culture. That one got me. Finally he said something very political. Not why I’m on a ride. I did ask him twice about when we would return to the parking lot at the end of the tour. I have issues with riding a bike in darkness as well as riding on a busy ride in darkness. My concerns were brushed aside. It’s a beautiful area. Just beware of Jeff. He’s greatest concern is Jeff, not the paying activity participant.
