- Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area - After picking up guests at one of our convenient locations, the journey begins in one of our comfortable vans. The tour takes place in the Columbia River Gorge, specifically in the waterfall-rich western end of an 80-mile (130-km) canyon. We will drive approximately 15-30 minutes from our pickup points into the Gorge to commence the tour.
- Multnomah Falls - Multnomah Falls is the tallest waterfall in the state and one of the most stunning and photographed waterfalls in the U.S. For those seeking waterfalls, this is a must-see. Our visit includes time to explore the iconic Benson Bridge and the gift shop; however, the hike to the top of the waterfall is long and steep, and is not part of this tour.
- Bridal Veil - The tour passes through the town of Bridal Veil, once a hub for a lumber operation in the Columbia Gorge, now home to a small post office and a nunnery, among other attractions. We will make at least one stop in the Bridal Veil area.
- Wahkeena Falls - This hidden gem is one of the state’s most romantic waterfalls. A half-mile (1 km) hike leads to this enchanting spot, which we believe is a true fairyland.
Due to weather, traffic conditions, or road closures, this waterfall may be replaced with an alternative!
Construction projects on the highway may alter our itinerary. We will always visit at least three waterfalls and a viewpoint; sample waterfalls are included in the itinerary!
- Latourell Falls - Latourell is the most impressive of the plunge-style waterfalls, cascading over layers of 15 million-year-old columnar and entablature basalt adorned with lichens. According to local legend, it carries the spirit of a Beaver princess who led a tragic life. At Latourell, guests have the opportunity for a longer hike, up to 2 miles (3 km). Breathe deeply and experience the forest’s rich variety with all its healing power and spiritual truths.

Horsetail Falls- Columbia River Gorge - If time and weather permit
Horsetail Falls is a summer favorite for its inviting waters to dip your toes in, and in winter, it impresses with its spray and thunderous presence. Whenever possible, we will visit this beauty. One of our alternate waterfalls is Bridal Veil Falls, offering a different kind of magic but equally breathtaking!
Construction projects on the highway may alter our itinerary. We will always visit at least three waterfalls and a viewpoint; sample waterfalls are included in the itinerary!
- Vista House - Vista House may have unexpected closures. If closed and the schedule allows, we will stop to take photos of this architectural icon and enjoy the view.
At Oregon’s most beautiful rest stop, we will pause, walk to the upper deck (weather permitting), learn about the architectural history, and appreciate what might be the most expensive public restroom in the Pacific Northwest. We will also honor the Wasco people, who considered this a sacred place.
- Troutdale - On the return journey to the city, we will pass through the town of Troutdale. The 35-minute drive back to the drop-off point includes exiting the mouth of the Columbia Gorge and passing through the charming suburb of Troutdale.

The Columbia River Gorge, with its 80 miles of steep, rocky cliffs, presents some of the world’s most breathtaking scenery: thundering waterfalls, soaring eagles, ancient trees, lush ferns, vibrant flowers, and timeless rocks. This half-day adventure of exploration and reflection, featuring brief hikes and visits to overlooks and vistas, will leave you in awe.
Participants will explore waterfalls and overlooks, carefully chosen by our guides to include both the most renowned, such as the must-see Latourell Falls—a magnificent plunge-style waterfall that stands as one of Oregon’s most iconic—and some hidden gems. Depending on the weather, this may include a few small, secluded waterfalls and another impressive plunge-style waterfall with columnar basalt. Our tours proceed rain or shine!
Additionally, we will share stories, not only about the geology, botany, and the well-known tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the ancient legends we’ve discovered, involving gods, animal spirits, and the Beaver princess who was tragically transformed into a waterfall.
