Enjoy a cozy campfire where corn and marshmallows are grilled, along with snacks and hot drinks, perfect for vegetarians. We visit locations free from light pollution for a serene, unobstructed view of the sky. Our live forecast support helps us find the best spots to witness the Northern Lights. With only 8 guests, there’s ample opportunity to take unlimited photos. If the weather is unfavorable, the tour can extend up to 8 hours to increase your chances of success. We may cross into Finland, so please bring your passport. Enjoy hotel pickup and drop-off, with guides fluent in Arabic, Norwegian, and English, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable experience.

I wouldn’t change a thing about this Northern Lights tour - If you are coming to Tromsø and you haven’t booked a Northern Lights experience yet, book this one! The tour company was very attentive to our requirements, making sure to pick us up somewhere that suited us and also messaging us before the pickup to say that fhe lights were already visible in Tromsø. The size of the minibus allows the guide to take you to quiet places with no light pollution that are perfect for capturing the Northern Lights. Our guide Jinyar pointed out the lights as we drove, and quickly took an opportunity to stop a little way away from the main road and took plenty of photographs of everyone under the night sky, taking care as well to watch for vehicles and ensure we were all safe while out of the minibus. We drove on and stopped again down a side road, in an area by a frozen lake that was lit only by the moon. The lights were very kind to us and put on a good show. Jinyar’s excitement was infectious. After many more photos, Jinyar made a fire and we all sat down for a hot drink and roasted marshmallows. It was an intimate setting and we knitted together well as a group. Another family stopped to watch the lights from the shore of the lake and Jinyar took time out to make sure they stayed safe near the lake. Afterwards we were dropped off at our apartment in Tromsdalen. The journey in the minibus was very comfortable and relaxing. The photos were available the next day, using a QR code provided by the tour company. They are included in the price of the tour.

One night will never be forgotten. - What a walk! What a guide. What an experience! We were completely blown off the track as we say in Bergen. We traveled as a family from Bergen to experience the northern lights, and were aware that we wanted a guide with high professional competence – also in the field of photography. The choice therefore fell on Alshemal, and it turned out to be perfect.
The guide had originally planned one route, but when he understood our strong photo interest, he adjusted the layout along the way and made it possible for an entirely unique experience. It testifies to both flexibility, experience and genuine commitment to its guests.
The evening offered spectacular northern lights, much jubilation along the way, barbecue in the wild and an atmosphere that was simply magical. The service was first-class from start to finish, and we experienced that this company really goes further than usual.
Alshemal is highly recommended – both to Norwegian and international guests who want something extra. Thank you for an experience we will never forget.

Amazing Northern Lights experience with our fantastic guide- Janyar - We had an amazing experience on this Northern Lights tour. Our guide, Janyar, was very, very nice and made the whole night enjoyable. He was determined to make sure we actually saw the Northern Lights and didn’t rush anything.
Janyar also took excellent photos of us under the lights, which was such a special bonus and something we’ll always treasure. The small group size made the experience feel personal and comfortable, and everything was well organized from start to finish.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Norway and hoping for a magical Northern Lights experience!

Amazing Aurora experience - From the beginning to the end of the tour, we were able to enjoy the magnificent aurora for a long time, and it was a wonderful night.
Jinyar, who guided us and took photos, and the driver were both very kind.
I would definitely like to participate in this tour again if I visit Tromso again.

A breathtaking experience with the Alshemal team. - Everything about this experience was spot on from the beginning. Communication leading up to the tour was clear and easy. Our tour guide and driver were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. They did a great job at accomodating our group which included 3 generations ranging from 11 to 78 years old. Highly recommend the Alshemal team. A truely breathtaking and memorable experience.

Choose Alshemal! - Choose Alshemal!Jan 1st, we were booked on the small northern light tour max 8 guests, pro photographer included, booked via tripadvisor to Alshemal Norway.
We were picked up from our hotel, Zain the guide contacted us already 2 days before to make sure we were ready for early pick up if needed. we were total 7 guest on the minibus. they took us to the coast near Somaroy. the whole experience was FANTASTIC! a very good spot in total darkness, no other buses, delicious snack and top quality hot chocolate, campfire, a large number of professional photos that were in the dropbox the following day.
Anyone looking for a great experience BOOK THIS ONE!!

Recommended. - Had a driver and a guide, Jinyar. Picked us at our apartment and dropped us back. They were focused. Not much conversation in the start or vehicle. Then got chat at the campfire. Had another trip the other night, but this one managed to get us a good spot, small group of 7, also got some shorts of the northern lights, good photos. Given thermal suits which does help sitting in cold with campfire. Highly recommended

Great experience, would 100% recommend. - Amazing tour. Picked up from our accomodation in a comfortable van with a group of only 8 people. We drove a long time because of bad weather in Tromso. We ended up in Finland and it was all worth it! Amazing lights and a great hot choccy and corn by a fire to finish it off. Great experience, would 100% recommend.

Pursuit of Light - Zein was a professional tour guide, took us along the way to Finland, picked a great vacant location, helped us take pictures and video, very nice! Driving in the snow is especially careful and also careful to help us change professional clothes. Super unforgettable experience!

Amazing tour. - This tour was amazing. Very long drive out of Norway because of the weather, but so happy we did. We went all the way down to Finland and saw some amazing lights.
The car was comfortable and an amazing heater, which was needed. Small group so easy to get plenty of photos! Great experience, would 100% recommend.
