Highly recommended - We had the most incredible Northern Lights tour with George. After a lot of research beforehand, we were really keen to go with an independent company and a small group, as we wanted something that felt more authentic and personal. The weather conditions were really challenging and unpredictable on the night, but George was so enthusiastic and his dedication completely paid off, as we were treated to a brilliant, unforgettable display of the aurora after driving very far into Finland. Thank you, George, for going above and beyond for us, and also for capturing some great shots of us and the lights :) we highly recommend this tour company to anyone considering booking a tour to see the Northern Lights from Tromso.

Great guide!! Very cool experience. - Peter was our guide, and everything was amazing!! He was very passionate about the tour. I went with my parents, and he was very helpful all the time. Our group had 7 people and started at 5 pm. We stayed out until 2 a.m., and he was so good at finding the lights and stopping at the right stops. Amazing pictures. Would go again.

Incredible light show - What an incredible night of viewing the aurora! George was awesome as he drove us 2+hours out to find clear skies. Hot chocolate, homemade lentil soup and a campfire were all a bonus and greatly appreciated. George provided hand and foot warmers, good company, good food, and a spectacular light show!

A Guide Who Truly Cares About His Guests - On 19 December 2025, our family of five joined George from Boreal Quest for a Northern Lights tour in Tromsø. What we experienced that night was far more than just a tour but an experience! We were staying outside the city area and George was kind enough to arrange pickup and drop off from where we were staying. That already meant a lot to us as a family, and in winter. The weather that evening was not ideal. The skies were uncertain and many might have called it a difficult night. But George did not give up. He drove us far outside the city to increase our chances and kept searching patiently. We could feel that he genuinely wanted us to see the lights, not because it was his job, but because he felt responsible for the experience of every guest. As a husband and father, safety is always on my mind. There was a steep and slippery slope at the viewing spot and George personally helped my wife and daughter up. He did it naturally and without hesitation. In that moment, I felt a deep sense of reassurance. We were not just customers to him. We were people he felt accountable for. Throughout the long wait in the cold, he made sure we were comfortable. The warm local soup and snacks were simple but thoughtful. It showed that he understands what families need on a cold winter night. When the Northern Lights finally appeared, George’s passion truly shone. He set up his professional camera and took many beautiful photographs of our family. He patiently guided us on how to use our phones to capture the lights as well. The photos turned out amazing and he sent them to us promptly the very next morning. What stayed with us was not just the beauty of the aurora, but the feeling of being cared for the entire evening. George carries a strong sense of responsibility towards his guests. You can see it in his actions, not just his words. We are deeply grateful for the memories he helped create for our family. If you are considering a Northern Lights tour in Tromsø, I highly recommend George and Boreal Quest. You will be in safe and caring hands. Thank you, George, for giving us an experience and memories that we will always remember.

Core memories! 💚 💜 - Goryge met us nice and early - around 17:15 - Goryge is super friendly, informative: shared some folklore stories about the lights and some of the science behind them. - He was really committed to making sure we had a great experience - he was SO enthusiastic - Goryge made us the most DELICIOUS homemade soup and hot chocolate - He helped me get the right settings on my camera so my photos were amazing - thank you! He even let me borrow his tripod ☺️ - Super comfy transport, safe driving. Ensured we were happy and comfortable during the journey. - we only drove 1hr 20mins before we pulled up at an amazing location in the mountains to see the northern lights. - We made a stop enroute for the toilet and on the way back - Goryge took incredible photos and sent them to us within 48hours! Tips: - Book well in advance - Dress warm, it was -15C and we were outside for about 2hrs in total (we didn’t wear the insulated onesie but Goryge did offer them to us) - Handwarmer and toe warmers are great - Crampons/microspikes make it easier to walk in the snow - Consider taking a powerbank - batteries drain really quickly in -15C - Consider packing a few extra layers and snacks because you can just leave them in the car

Superb Evening ! - Superb evening spent with George to see the Lights, which despite the very snowy day in Tromso, we did !! George was very friendly and knowledgable, and we drove out to secluded spots best placed to watch the show. Most importantly, George’s trip departs early to as to beat the multitude of tour vans all heading the same way !

The best Northern lights hunt with Peter - We had the absolute most magical experience with our guide Peter from Boreal Quest! Peter is extremely knowledgeable and just a cool person to hang out with for a few hours. He was extremely committed to giving our group the best chance at seeing the Northern lights and found great spots to view them. The pictures he took are fantastic and very high quality, and he sent them to us very quickly after our tour along with a nice summary of our night! The van we used also had a cool rooftop window, which allowed us to keep an eye on the sky as we moved locations, and when some of us in the group noticed the lights emerging, Peter quickly found a place to pull over. We also enjoyed the lentil soup and hot cocoa, and we had a great group of people with us who made the night even more memorable. I can't recommend this tour enough--truly once in a lifetime and worth every penny!
