The ancient city of Avanos, known as Venessa in ancient times, overlooks Turkey’s longest river, the Kizilirmak (Red River), which separates Avanos from the rest of Cappadocia. Avanos is renowned for its earthenware pottery production, a tradition dating back to the Hittites, and the ceramic clay from the red silt of the Kizilirmak has always been used.

Uchisar Castle - Uchisar rock castle is one of Cappadocia’s most significant landmarks. It is the highest tuff hill in the area, offering stunning views of the surrounding valley filled with unique rock formations.
